I bought a couple colors of velvety yarn several years ago and never used it. Looks like a couple people will get Teddy bears for Christmas, this year. Thanks for the info, and pattern. Lynn

I made this but with Pipsqueek yarn! It was rough at first then I just let my hands do the work and stopped thinking so hard about it. It turned out so cute thanks for this pattern. Too bad we can't post it for you to see.

KZbin has tons of tutorials on how to read patterns. This is very easy and so much fun!

All you needed was to add a lot more fiberfill in the neck before you closed it shut. Very pretty bear.

Your bear is beautiful it would be wonderful if you could make a video on how to make this bear I also cannot read patterns

Would it be even less floppy if the body was shorter and not so narrow at the top of the body? Please let me know, thank you! Great project, by the way. You are very clever. Thanks for sharing!

After rnd 5, on the feet pattern, it says rows 4-6 of sc. Confused me.

Is there any difference between baby velvet and velvet when it comes to thickness?

I have 3 bears done - 1 large and 2 small - waiting to be put together. I had also done a pillow top in the same velvet yarn. It was done in 8 quarters (4 each side) and colour changes every couple of rows using 5 colours. Needless to say, I had a lot of ends to weave in upon completion but the ends keep popping out. Is there a solution? In the meantime, I'm afraid to assemble the bears for fear of having the same thing happen although running the strands through, the fiberfill may offer some resistance and help to keep the ends in place. Thoughts on this?

Iam doing the bunny and the legs are attached to the body as you work up to the neck....I am stuck I've never done it like that before. Anyone give me a help please?

I had a problem with dangling heads, what I did was stick in a wooden dowel to hold the head and body steady and that instantly solved the problem.

Can you feel it from outside?
@tessabeauchamp17603 жыл бұрын
@@shemeshka82 You don't feel it from the outside unless if you accidentally sit on it . But looking back, I don't think it's a good idea if a child is playing with it. I make bears mostly for adults and older children, but I stopped using a dowel. I just run as much stitches as it needs and it always solves it.
@shemeshka823 жыл бұрын
@@tessabeauchamp1760 great to know. It’s my biggest fear it won’t work after I crochet the whole thing. Do you recommend using a lot of filling both in the neck and head? Or just the neck? Or just do more and more stitches?
@tessabeauchamp17602 жыл бұрын
@@shemeshka82 The instructions always say to pack filling tight, I guess over time the filling will recede. When assemblying the head and neck (I usually leave a bigger hole on the neck as this is more stable when stitching, about 3" dia.). I would stitch far apart at the start and then fill in closer and closer until the head is stable.

I realize this video is several months old but I figure it can’t hurt to ask. I’ve made a few stuffies with this yarn, and LOVE them. But my ends just don’t like to stay woven in. Everything stays attached, but my ends have come loose on all three that I’ve made. I’m guessing it’s because the yarn is so soft and slippery, as I’ve never had this issue before. Any tips on that?

What size hook did you use please?

Hi Marilyn! For this pattern we recommend a size U.S. H/8 [5 mm] crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge. Happy crafting!
