Nice job! I have a Lowrider2 cnc from V1. I got rid of the discount reprap smart controller and replaced it with a touch screen, best upgrade I've done.

Nice and square, that must have been satisfying! Not sure about the 0.2mm off on the one side, maybe a slightly thicker finish pass or snug up the belts on that side just a touch. Cool build, again, and thanks for sharing!

I really have enjoyed using my mpcnc the last few years. After upgrading to the primo version I felt that it was far better than the previous models, but I still have to tighten things regularly and print replacement parts after they inevitably break.

This one seems to be a little loose. Not sure if it is something I did, or if it is the design.

@@MakingStuff it starts to cause major problems if you don't have everything tightened properly with this machine. Mine is about the same size as yours as cuts wood really well. But as soon as I started with aluminum plate, the weaknesses really showed themselves. I know it's not apples to apples in terms of cost, but I ended up buying the queen bee pro 1500x1500 to replace my mpcnc. I am still making space for it so I haven't tested it yet, but I felt that I needed more reliability moving forward.

I thought you have already bulit a MPC a few years ago. Is my memory being wrong? I really like the project, i would like to build one also. Thanks for you filming the process. Sorry to hear you hurt your back. I hurt mine at 39 and it has been given me problems every sense.

I like your approach! Useful data for anyone contemplating to build: Cost. Time. CNC controller g-code generation (did you use Fusion 360 fro CAM?) parts availability, etc. Thanks for sharing!

Parts list is in the decription. I used a RAMBO board that I bought from V1. I used Sketchup and Estlcam to make the test block in the video.

I'm working on making my MPCNC a plasma MPCNC. New table and shielded cables should do the trick.

This is the second one I have built so I did it a little quicker. It probably took me two 8 hour days to get it working.

I've wondered with these if you can eventually machine the 3D printed parts with something better like aluminum? Glad you're feeling better. Wondering if you can make some sort of mechanism to slide over and drop down to slide back in the bottom, for a more ergonomic and easily stowable system?

Really like this but no printer. Must be alternates for some of the larger connection parts. Wanted 1 for years. Have motors and many parts including that square aluminum lengths with the 4 sides for connecting brackets etc.

VE Egineering sells the printed parts in a kit. You could also look into local maker spaces or local library to see if they have 3d printers for rent.

There are plenty of different mounts available for the MPCNC. I wouldcheck on Thingiverse.com and see if you can find a mount.

Have you considered going to a spindle (maybe 800 W?) instead of the router for reduced noise and more consistent speed? (The router always slows under load.) This might be good, especially for aluminum. I'm trying to decide for my own Primo. As for the looseness, if you get it adjusted correctly, it should be just as tight as the previous version. However, over time, the plastic does "creep" causing it to need to be re-tightened. Maybe once or twice a year. I spoke to the V1 guys at the recent RMRRF and they said it may be necessary to even re-print the core once in a while. Final question: did you build the version that uses the 3/4" EMT or the version that uses the 1" steel tube? For my 24" x 24" work area, I think the larger OD is slightly better.

I have no idea how much it cost because I had some of the parts on hand already and the price of everything has gone up since I started. If you look on the MPCNC web site they say it's around $500. It took me about two 8 hour days to build this one.

How to square the machine is in the V1 documentation for the MPCNC. Mine is a little loose too. I haven't figured out what is causing it yet. The older design seemed to be more rigid.
