@@nayt7357 : I oiled everything and then I took a file and smoothed down anything rough.I had put my needle in backwards the first time, also adjust the needle so that the point just touches your finger when you hold it underneath the arm. Other wise it worked good off the start. Hope that helps.

Yes! Make sure you set the needle to the correct depth (all the way in) and watch videos on the timeing of the little spool on the bottom. :-)

And clean it with a degreaser before you use it.

order your needles from amazon . the machine takes a flat shank 15x1 hax1 size 110/18 if you are using a #69 size bonded nylon thread. it was 11.77 +tax and shipping and it will take 5 days to arrive, not 3 weeks. That was for 100 needles, think these are pointed but they can be easily made into a chisel point with a drimel tool If you want to do leather. Also i'm sure you could not do it with that table, but it needed to be clamped down. lastly i heard plasty dip works good on the foot to get rid of the sharp edges

Thanks for the video. I need HELP! My walking foot doesn't walk. The upside down U shaped piece barely moves left and right. So I followed that part to the other end, to the base. That arm has very little space from the end to the base. Also, one of those rotating levers at the base doesn't even press against that arm which is part of the U shaped piece. It's like the machine is damaged or I put it together wrong. Are both of these levers supposed to touch a metal arm?

Enyawd: I am wondering if your machine has been put together too tight. I am not really sure what you should do, I would take it apart and put it back together again. I checked on my machine and the rotating levers don't fit tight against the wheel either. I know this probably doesn't help too much . Roger

@@themanitobaman1964 It worked. I lowered the needle to point I can feel the tip through that hole under the bobbin shuttle/casing. It picked up the bobbin thread. Thanks so much.

I use a 18/110 needle for my leather work , you need to use the bobbin for the threading to work.

@@nayt7357 . The machine came with 2 bobbins that I use. I am going to modify one bobbin to use thicker thread but they worked well for the thinner thread I use most.

Hey I’m having problems with the machine. The first problem is that the thread keeps breaking and 2nd problem is that the upper and under thread doesn’t tighten itself it’s kinda loose and does not sticht. It just comes off easily after you’ve stitched it. Thank you

Dolkar; I am not sure but it sounds like the thread tension is not correct. You should also check to see if your needle is in the correct way . The flange should face the back of the machine. Try this it might help you. Thanks for watching and I hope this helps . Roger

@@afzalhisham3327 I guess the proper word is scarf, that is the flat side of the needle. The flat side of the needle , at the bottom near the eye. That scarf part should be facing in towards the machine.

I also suspect that it is only because of the thread. the upper thread can be changed using the two tension rollers and the lower thread must be inserted correctly. it's best to watch other videos

How much does it get cold in Manitoba?

In winter sometimes it gets to -35 degrees Celsius, but only a few days are that cold. In January we sometimes have a lot of days between -20 and -25 Celsius.

Hi mate, can I use this machine for shoe customs e.g sewing on patches and fabric onto shoes ? Also how’s the maintenance on this ?

Fawad: Thanks for watching. I am sure your could see patches on shoes. I have never tried it, but I have sewed thicker material than shoes. The maintenance has been low so far. I ordered extra needles on aliexpress . You might break a couple getting it se up. I also glued the crank handle to the big pulley. I hope that helps.Roger

Absolutely Fawad CFC, you will be able to sew shoes and soles on the critical edge. Its brill.! The setting up process is easy until you gotta set the 'Timing'.......or Synchronize it regarding the bobbin. With abit of persistence you'll be jumping for joy when you see the results. I'll chuck you the Link for 'Synchronization' methods explained, although that's not what the narrator referred the process as.

I have one of these pterodactyl machines and had to rework almost everything before it could even be used. It’s working now but I can’t get a Tate stitches. SO IF ANYONES OUT THERE THAT CAN HELP ME PLEASE WRITE.

Jim: Without checking too much . How is the thread tension? In the beginning I ended up taking my machine to a local sewing machine repair shop for a little tweaking. I hope this helps.

@@rogercurrie Roger, the tension was the problems, the tension was to loose in the bobbin. After I solve that very thing is stitching good. The problem I have is someone out there Ashley told me to check the tension at the bobbin. However I forget who it was. I was in such a hurry to try and see if that would working. So I just sent out a bunch of messages to people thanking them for their help. I hope I got the right one! I thought I sent you want to, oh Roger that’s what happens when you’re in your golden years.

NOBODY is showing where the thread spool attaches on back of machine!!!! Mine has nowhere to attach..

Eric: There is a threaded hole on the back curve to put in a small bolt or piece of threaded rod. When I made a wooden base for my machine I also added a small piece of threaded pipe for bigger spools of thread. I also took an old hanger and made it into a hook that was higher than the machine for the thread to run through on the way from the spool to the machine. I hope this helps, Thanks for watching.
