Genesis 26:5 says, "Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws." Which means there had to be a knowledge of God's laws passed down orally from the beginning to the righteous Patriarchs long before they were ever written at Sinai. Shalom brother welcome... these few terms introduced in the videos are hebrew to help the student of the word understand more of Jewish terminology and thinking. A midrash is a discussion on the topic, i.e. an “exposition” or “investigation” used in two senses. On the one hand, it refers to a mode of biblical interpretation prominent in Jewish study and literature; on the other, it refers to a separate body of ancient commentaries on the Torah using this interpretative mode covering the last two thousand years. We hope that understanding these hebrew words introduced in the video teachings help people in their studies understand Jewish thinking better and thus build more unity between Christians and Jews.
