Assessing the Scalability of Integrated Care Programs for Older Adults: Lessons Learned

Scalability assessment involves examining the extent to which a successful program or intervention can be spread to other settings and populations to benefit more people. It also involves exploring the alignment of policy or practice to support implementation and lasting change.

Guest speaker: Melissa Northwood, RN, PhD, GNC(C), Assistant Professor, School of Nursing, McMaster University
Dr. Melissa Northwood is an applied health services researcher and previous CIHR Health System Impact Fellow, who conducts collaborative research through strategic partnerships with older adults and health and social care providers to improve the well being of older adults. Dr. Northwood’s research program seeks to enhance care quality, the culture of the practice environment, and health system transformation through a learning health system. Prior to joining the School of Nursing in 2020, Melissa had a lengthy practice career across health care sectors from acute care to home care, with a focus on older adults with multiple chronic conditions.
