Wow honestly these are the moments I forgo every bad thing about the Internet and see it as truly a miracle. I just completed my masters working in pre clinical research and going into the typical PhD route but started to feel like perhaps a career in clinical research is equally as fulfilling given I had a bit of experience as an undergrad, but I still felt like it’s not my place, and here I am now making coffee and feeling like I just started a new master’s. Thank YOU thank YOU will be commenting again when I hopefully land my first step in this field and you will be acknowledged

Hi Dan, big thank you from down under in Oz. I stumbled across your video's whilst googling the meaning of one of the seemingly hundreds of acronyms in clinical trials. After listening to a few, I heard a few people mention the "5 hour video", so I went looking for it and finally found it. I had mentioned to my manager that I was listening to your podcasts on the way to and from work - she asked for the link to them. Now, after listening to this video, I'm going to recommend it be part of the training for new staff! I am an RN, besides an interest in clinical trials, I knew nothing about them and was mind boggled by the complexity of the "background" work. Your video has made it so much clearer for me now. Thank you so much for the time and effort you spend putting into your podcasts and videos!! Brilliant work! I even went on LinkedIn and downloaded the cheat sheet for trial start up that one of your interviewees made :)

Hello Dan, I have just been offered a CRA position at one of the premier Cancer Hospitals in the country. To be honest, I am not sure what to know before I start in May. I don’t know if they will train me or if they expect me to know some stuff, I just want to be ready. I am watching this video to try to understand my role as a CRA and how to help the PI

@@abee14081 well, I am soon to be a graduate with a biology degree which they liked. I have worked in the ER as a lead medical scribe which they thought was cool. The director didn’t know what an ER scribe does, so I explained to her and she thought it was very cool. She said it is good to know that I can communicate with physicians in medical terminology and know how to act professionally. I have also worked as an assistant in a lab which I believe is different from the clinical setting but they liked that. I don’t have any experience in the clinical setting, which is why I am hoping Dan would reply to my comment and help me. I am going in blind but here videos have been helpful so far. I honestly think during the interview I was very personable, I mean we talked about online video gaming. Apparently her nephew is huge on video gaming and is always meeting and conversing with people from all over the world. That was a huge part of the interview really. I don’t think having a clinical research experience is a must, but be very personable if you get an interview. Your resume has told them a lot about you, tell them what they don’t know. Always apply for as many positions as you can. Keep applying and you will definitely get one. 🙏🏾
