Greatly enjoyed and enriched. One small suggestion. I think, the calculation of Ra and Rb be checked once. It seems to be 18.1 Kn/m and 19.83 Kn/m respectively. But, the quality of the material, far outperforms this small cal error. Please if u can share the Staad file.

1. Ur beam orientation is incorrect, width is more than depth, i.e ur zd>yd. 2. .1x(3-depth of beam)x20 ,height of infill/wall should be 3m- depth of beam. 3. plate are not used for building model cos load transfer to the connecting beam is not as accurate as floor load assignment. Plate meshing split the connecting beam, therefore beam design results shows insufficient span by depth ratio. 4. Staad doesn't support slab design as per IS code. 5. Lastly, you've done commendable job, sharing invaluable knowledge.
@CivilEngineeringMastery4 жыл бұрын
1.Width is not more than depth(Zd is the width and yd is the depth) please check modelling kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIeynHqohtidfs0 2.It would be great if you specify the code number(which code has this statement) 3.A slab has to be modeled using a mesh of plates. You should not model it using a single plate element because if you do so, the slab will only connect to the rest of the structure at the corners. So if you have beams along the edges and columns at the four corners of the slab, the slab would only connect to the columns but not to the beams. Hence the load from the slab will be transferred to the columns directly without bothering the beams and so the load path would not be accurate. Hence you should always use a mesh of plates and the beams at the edges should also be divided in line with the plate mesh so that connectivity is established at the common nodes along the edge. 4.Analysis result is enough to design the slab.
@ronnie90964 жыл бұрын
@@CivilEngineeringMastery 1. Let me check and revert back. 2. No where it is mention in the code but common sense tell us height of wall is = floor height- depth of beam( for solid slab). Your argument hold true if you use flat slab. 3. Compare the result using plate mesh and floor load transferred on beam. You'll find the difference. Since the result obtain by plate mesh give stresses, it is not convenient to design slab as per IS CODE 456 table no. 26. 3. like I hv mention earlier, meshing split the beam, therefore the length of beam in design results shows the split length, as a result shows warning insufficient span by depth ratio. It can only be designed as one physical member in RC designer mode. For further clarification, drop a email I will share the resources by Bentley.

2.yes height of wall should be floor height-depth of beam(depth of beam includes slab thickness)

hello man can we apply slab load on beam without drawing slab for building in staad pro .OR IT is necessary to draw slab ?
@CivilEngineeringMastery3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can apply slab load as uniformly distributed load in beams but you need to calculate slab load manually. Drawing slab in staad and applying load as a floor load or plate load is the proper method and load transfer will takes place properly.

If we assign these much loads,the structure will be safe but the cost of construction will be high. You just design using these load values,then only know how much quantity of steel its consume. practially is they are assume these much loads?

UDL of 100mm wall is 6 kN/m on beam but you have add 1 kN/m2 wall weight on plate what is the logic or formula to calculate wall load on plate?
@CivilEngineeringMastery4 жыл бұрын
Yes you are correct,udl of partition wall load is 6kN/m but in a framed structure you will not get beams below all the partition walls to apply the uniformly distributed load. In that case,we cannot apply the partition wall load on slab as a uniformly distributed load. So,we have to apply the partition wall load on slab as a plate pressure. Refer IS-875 -part-2 cl.3.1.2 Also you can check the below link for load calculation kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3uqYn2frZ2Bes0
