1. Well explained especially staircase loading. 2. In some residential projects, there is no midlanding beam as it directly rest on the brickwall. In this case how to apply the loads? Either have to apply on beams where brick wall rest or any other way. 3. In mid landing and floor beams, we have apply the reactions Ra and Rb throughout the beam. But in stilt/ground floor where the stairs begins and roof beams where it ends, we have apply the loads on beam to its half length or width of the staircase. Am i correct?. Could you please send snapshot for how stairs case loads are applied in beams using staad.?
@CivilEngineeringMastery
@CivilEngineeringMastery 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you Jayabharathi. 2. If there is no mid landing beam,we can rest the staircase on wall. 3.In stilt or ground floor either we can rest on plinth beam or stone masonry as foundation for staircase.we have to apply loads on beam to the width of the staircase.Sure i will upload one video for how apply loads in staad.

Mam here i am asking about some different topic that generally beam is single entity just from column to column member (means support to support )which called as primary beam, But why stadd pro software splits beam in two pieces when we apply secondary beam as a point load ,what is reason behind it? Mam, Is it necessary to merge those split beams of main primary beam which are divided after inserting secondary beam before analysis ? Because after inserting node in primary beam it is divided into some pieces or numbers of beams. And they are gotten different beam no to each segment of beam. What will be the correct method ? Either merged primary beam or leave it as split beam before analyzing. Please guide me mam.
@CivilEngineeringMastery
@CivilEngineeringMastery 4 жыл бұрын
No need to merge the primary beam. If it doesn't split then the load will not be applied on the particular node. When you take the bending moment you have to consider the maximum bending moment for the primary beam.

Thanks mam to clear my confusion. I understand that though primary beam seems split in multiple segment in staad model while secondary beam inserting but it acts as a single beam( one piece) which supported at extreme end column support. Mam, Is it correct?

Not only extreme end column support. Even we get column support in the middle and we get beam support as well. Please refer the below link for how to make framing plan kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZLZloWcYqtjesU

Thanks for this explanation. But mam why did you take moment arm 4/2 instead of 1+(3/2)=2.5m like a beam ?
@CivilEngineeringMastery
@CivilEngineeringMastery 4 жыл бұрын
RB should be higher than RA. RB X 4 = 10.06X3X(1+(3/2))+7.75X1X(1/2) RB = 19.83kN/m RA = 10.06X3+7.75X1-19.83 = 18.10kN/m There was a error. Thank you.

You have shown the calculations but It would have been better if you could show the free body diagram... I mean if we could see where the loads will jmrax

Mam , Floor load , Area load ,Full plate pressure these are all same or what how? Are they work same? Can we use these for same purpose? OR Effect or use of these are same? Which type of load method should be used for applying manglore tiles load to inclined slab ? Which axis method should be used for loading purpose for inclined slab ,whether it Local axis load or Global axis load? ( Considering Inclined slab creating by plate element.) I have experienced that it is difficult to use Floor Load to applying manglore tiles load to inclined slab(inclined plate element) by Y-RANGE .But I didnt try by using group option in FLOOR LOAD method. Mam , please explain which will be better way for loading to taper slab?

You can mesh the plates and then apply Mangalore tiles load as plate pressure.

Thanks Mam , Can we use AREA LOAD by selecting all plate simultaneously? Is it mandatory to meshing plate? Actually what is difference between ordinary plate and meshing plate? It is quite difficult to connect nodes to adjacent plate nodes, i have seen in your other video (influence method). What is the benefit of meshing plate over enmeshing plate?

A slab has to be modeled using a mesh of plates. You should not model it using a single plate element because if you do so, the slab will only connect to the rest of the structure at the corners. So if you have beams along the edges and columns at the four corners of the slab, the slab would only connect to the columns but not to the beams. Hence the load from the slab will be transferred to the columns directly without bothering the beams and the load path would not be accurate. Load path - slab to beam, beam to column and column to footing. If you do not create plate mesh then the nodes will not be created between slab and beam.

Thanks mam. Another doubt is , Who decides the beam will be either rectangle or flange beam section while analyzing in staad pro that one USER or staad software? Also who decides beams will be either continuous or fixed beams as single span when they are laid in same center line in plan (top view)? Or how should be mentioned those things in staad inputs parameter ?Please explain mam.

Self-weight of the beam was calculated per meter length of the beam. kN/m.
