The tiger knee motion, where you do a certain aerial move above the ground. It can be done as QCF, UF + attack. It's called the tiger knee because it was the original command for Sagat's Tiger Knee in Super Street Fighter II Turbo.

down, downforward, forward, forward up, attack. Basically means that you input the motions of the move before jumping, allowing you to use the skill faster than: up, down, downforward, forward. Its how you do things like spencer OTG grapples.

Actually, it refers to the old Tiger Knee command in earlier SF2. Basically Quarter circle forward, forward up. If done right, it makes your character be in the air and immediatly do their QCF move.

@MrMK109 In the old days Sagat's Tiger Knee was D, DF, F, UF. Tiger Knee'ing now, means doing any motion ending in u/uf/ub. Due to the input leniency in games now it will still register the special move motion when you jump, allowing you to do air special moves very early in your jump. So basically instead of doing jump -> fireball, it becomes one motion; allowing the fireball to come out as early as possible. It has other uses, but I won't go into those. A fun surprise to do with Chris when you get a happy birthday combo and the main drops from the combo is to keep facing the corner throwing nades. Sometimes the dead assisted happy birthday character will continue to burn with heavy nades. When the main character comes it to most likely air attack you cancel into level 3 and the crosshair will be setup for the main character. It has startup frames and some invincibility but will most likely hit the main opponent.

I have an idea for a combo with chris. I'm too slow in the fingers to pull it off though. maybe you can try it jump S, Light medium heavy strike, shotgun for the stun, combination punch. X factor level three into the satelite cannon keeping them in the corner

It's also good to mention that all of Chris's grenade specials will detonate if Chris is hit while they are out, meaning that if you throw the incendiary or frag grenade and get hit right after, the opponent will be hit by the detonation and allow you to combo after depending on what they hit you with and what grenade you used. The L version is very unreliable against air opponents, however, due to its low hitbox.

@MrMK109 I can help you with that :D This is an old term dated from the SF turbo, but still used today by most tutorials or commentators: Back then, to perform Sagat's Tiger Knee you would need to finish the hadouken motion (down, down-forward, forward) but ending it with up-forward, almost making him jump. Don't worry I had to look that up as well months ago when James Chen mentioned it in one of the tournaments.

It's when you move the control stick or pad forward, then down, then diagonal forward and the attack button but in the case of the jumping shotty you press up first.

Perform a dash and cancel the recovery by pressing down, then dash again. If done quickly you do a wave dash and cover ground quickly but it takes a good deal of practice.

ok you know how if you go from deadpool's gunshots, and in the middle of the move he goes in to his trigger happy hyper? that's a cancel. you could also cancel from normal to special moves

there is no exact button for cancelling. you cannot stop a move halfway without the use of x-factor or inputting another move (that is if you can, certain moves you can't cancel from or to). if you can perform a simple aerial combo using L, M, H, S, air M, air M, air H, air S, you should know how to cancel. you should visit wiki(.)shoryuken(.)com (no parenthesis) and go to the umvc3/mvc3 section

As a Chris player since vanilla, I'm happy you mentioned Haggar as a viable assist as I've won many matches thanks to Lariat, but also mention Striders Vajra assist. Since Chris can't hit above him with fireballs, and Vajra is faster than Hidden Missiles. Could you look into his compatibility with Dormammu?
