i am so glad you decided to make this video. the DDA is pretty unclear in some parts when it comes to owner training and it really makes it hard to learn how to do things correctly. you pretty much covered everything that i was unsure about such as; how the PAT test wasn't a legal requirement (i have heard countless times that it was required in my state, but i never found any resources backing this claim up) and what forms of proof that you can use to prove your ad is legitimate. also side note - i remember you telling me about how you were possibly taking honey to Hawaii with you and i thought it would be a good vid topic idea if you could go into detail on what it looks like to fly on a plane both within Australia and overseas and things you can do to prep for a plane ride with your ad. id also love to see a video about the minimum standards for an ad since there isnt a great deal of info about it in Australia. again thank you for making this video! it was super helpful!!

Thank you so much for this. I'm getting 2 pugs to train up to help with my ptsd, autism and agoraphobia and wasn't 100% sure what needed to be done in Australia.

Thank you for this information. I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression, medication has never worked and I find that my anxiety is getting worse. I’m wanting to train my pup as an assistant dog for myself (I also have a heart condition, 5 chronic pain disabilities and a few other things). I’ll never understand why our government doesn’t have this information more easily accessible. It’s been a hard and long journey of trying to work out how to do this (7years 😅). Thank you so much for your help!

A HUGE Thank you Lauren!! I can’t empress enough how amazingly informative your Vidoe is! I started looking into an assistant dog a few years ago, it was so complex as well as had a bad experience of someone trying to take advantage of me, so I walked away from it all. I now have a kelpie, which I got from a pup, he’s fantastic and shows great potential of being an assistance dog for me…it has now sparked the desire to look further into the legislations. Again thank you ever so much! 🌻

Hi! Where did you get your gear?

evidence of training could be videos of the actual training sessions. for instance, proving your dog can heel and they are in your control via a video of you showing that :)
