As a german player, which is not used to use English daily, it’s hard to follow videos sometimes. Not at your place. You use clear and easy words and don’t talk as fast or with slang as others. But I think that Minamoto is S tier general for PvP as archers general and he is very good in cobination with Gnarr but that is my expirience so far and your effort with videos and toutorials is magnificent but, everyone can have their own style of play and that makes this game so good... Elize is a good assistant to Hannibal if you don't coin. She comes around quite frequently in events and is somewhat easy to get for a coin-general, but to hard to get fragments for, making her perfect for Hannibal. Even without the dragon buff she gives 30% to mounted and ground troop HP. An option at least :) Great video by the way! PS. I use Wei Qing as assistant for my Minamoto, he could he worth seeing if he matches with Himiko.

I agree +5 range attack loss for 10% debuff wins. I understand nit wanting himiko as an assistant due to the time and effort you invested into her hut I use mimamoto and himiko as assistant. However I was able to get lucky and acquired prince's kaguwa so I'm using her now but if she works with himiko and you get her best of luck. Awesome video

Thank you 😊🙏 Yeah, I tried out Minamoto and Himiko. The combination was possible, but I’d have to remove the ranged attack book from Himiko for it to work. Wasn’t entirely sure it was worth it tbh. Oh nice with Kaguya 😃👍. I haven’t had similar luck so far 😅. If I get lucky enough to get her, I’ll definitely use her for ranged. I don’t mind switching Himiko, but only when I’m able to start doing specialties on my ranged general. For now, still focused on wall and ground gens. So will still be using Himiko for a while yet 🥰

Congratulations on 3K!! You have given us, and keep giving us such vital information. The advice on not changing the skill books on the main General is so important. Evony is well known for making changes without notice, so if we do a lot of changes to get our perceived best combo, it may be lost. In particular, Evony may "crack down" on the phrasing of the Generals. Such as "when leading army/attack." That could mean they cannot be used as expected as an Assistant. Depending upon how powerful you are and your opponent you may find out that certain combinations do not actually work.

Thank you very much 😊🙏 Yeah, I thought about it when I was changing the book on Hannibal and I realized that removing that book would affect Hannibal if I wanted yo use him alone. To be fair, since the assistant general system is full rolled out, it would probably be no problem to use the general pair every time, but I just don’t feel very comfortable with the fact that I would now always have to include the assistant general. And you are right, Evony could switch things up later down the line. Imo, unless the benefit to be gained from the assistant is significant like 30% and higher buff increase, I wouldn’t consider changing books on my generals right now

Hi Aka! Love your videos!! Please help with this question….is it better to put an Asst gen that is geared towards your protected layer troops? Or an Asst that is similar to your main gen? This is where I’m getting confused. Like for PVP, range march. Pair up 2 range generals? Or main gen is range and Asst is mounted to take care of the protective layer in ur march? I loved the simplified layering video u did and I made a spreadsheet and built my presets. But for my generals I’m not sure what the optimal combo is supposed to be. Thank you so much AKA!!

Hi 🙂👋 Your main general and your assistant general should both buff your main troops. So if it’s a ranged march, you’d want both your main general and assistant as ranged oriented generals 👌 As for your protective layer, you can consider buffing them up using any left over skill book slots that you have from your generals, after you have fixed all the important books 👌

Thank you very much ☺️🙏 Conrad is such a unique and rare general. I assume not many people have him. But from what I can tell, he should perform like any other ranged general. So, good ranged assistants like Kaguya or Gnarr should be easy options. Would have to test his compatibility with the generals to make sure though 👌

I haven't given this much thought yet but for now, for mounted PvP (which I use for monsters also), I use Martinus as the main and Roland as assistant. Didn't add any books to Roland yet but the base skill is active so it looks like it works.

If the base skill is active, then that’s cool. You’d want to get your skill books sorted as well. They will likely give you a decent boost to your ability to kill monsters with fewer wounded. Also, for your mounted combination, when putting the books, decide whether you want the combination to be focused on monsters, PvP or both. Would be good for you to also decide your combinations for your other generals, especially wall general 👌

Nice video but you missed a very important part of the game. Boss monster general combination! I use Aethelfaed with the Fafnir dragon and Roland as the assistant. Check out the combined main skills on those 2 plus for the combined 6 skillbooks I used MOUNTED TROOP ATTACK, MOUNTED TROOP HP AGAINST MONSTER, LUCK, MARCH SIZE, MONSTER MARCH SPEED AND MOUNTED TROOP HP. With proper Dragon and General monster debuff gear on Roland now I can solo a B14 with 1.5m t14 cavs and 0 wounds! Let me know what you think and maybe a video on assistant generals for monster rallies would be great! So many other choices.

Thanks 🙏 Yeah, I kinda covered boss combinations to an extent in my earlier video. So the focus of this video was gathering and PvP. Plus, as you said, there are a lot of combinations for bosses and boss combinations were the ones that most people got sorted out first. For my set up, I use Li Jing with Roland as assistant. On Li Jing I have Mounted HP, Mounted HP against monster and Luck. On Roland I have Mounted Attack against monster, Mounted Defense against monster and Monster March Speed.

Nice video man. There's so many combos available, especially with premium generals. Not sure if you have the same event we have in our server, but the event where you can redeem generals like Scipio and Elise is a great way for small coiners/non coiners to be able to get those generals. 240 points to redeem, means you only have to ascend a general 3 stages to be able to claim Scipio or Elise. Elise+ Trajan is a very good combo that I personally like using. It works, as long as Elise does not have an hp book on her. So, just put HP on trajan and all is well.

btw, as far as skills that are only enabled if and "When general is in the main city defense general" as Dewey + yi sun sin, u can check that yisun sin skill will be disabled coz it wont activate as he is on assistant slot not main!

I checked. Took 2 defenses: 1 with only Dewey, another with Dewey as main and Yi Sun Sin as assistant. Confirmed! Yi Sun Sin’s buffs apply when he’s assistant. 👍

Thank you 🙂🙏 As for Bowie, if you have him as your wall general, then yes! his skill will apply. Meaning, he will buff your in-city mounted troops’ attack. His debuffs will also apply when defending (because he’s the wall general) For an assistant, if you are looking to boost your mounted troop attack, consider a general like Queen Boudica 👍 You could also consider someone like Robert Guiscard for assistant. But as a bit of advice, keep an open mind regarding this. You may likely have to revisit your strategy of mounted troop attack on defense as you progress further 😇

Your wall general is primarily responsible for buffing your in-city troops. Your attacking generals are responsible for buffing your attacking troops. So, Bowie’s skill will not influence your attacking troops, only your defending troops when he is the wall general 👍

Thank you 😊🙏 To put it simply, yes, the skills will apply. The skills won’t light up when they are assistants, but they still apply. So Yi Sun Sin is good to go as an assistant 😉👍

Why would you use Himiko over Elektra? Isn’t himiko more of a sub city general based on her specialties? Also Wei Qing is one to consider with archer Gen.-Debuffs+ 15% ranged attack. Anyway, thanks for good info

I’ve been asked that so many times 😂😂 Himiko was the first gold general I got that I could use for PvP. I have been using her since way back. I got my wings with her. So, there is a sentimental attachment. But you have a point: her specialties are geared up like she’s a sub gen. But specialties aside, amongst the free choices available for archer PvP, she actually not bad. I have both Elektra and Minamoto, but I’ll continue using Himiko 🥰 until I can afford to do specialties on my archer gen. I’ll switch then. As for Wei Qing, his ranged attack buff would help as an assistant for an archer PvP general, but his debuffs won’t be all that helpful. You could of course still use him with an archer general, but those debuff are much more important on the wall imo. It would still depend on what other choices are available as well

That seems like a reasonable combination 👌 Largely ground focused. For skill books, you have a lot of freedom. But I’d recommend siege range bonus, ranged range bonus and then other books of your choosing 😉👍

Aka, excellent videos, I luv em. For gathering, i use a pvp general with high politics as my main and queen j as the alternate. I'm getting very good speed plus the bonus. Any thoughts on that instead of using Lucy? At night my pvp gens are just sitting around.

Thanks 😊🙏 It’s alright to use PvP generals with high politics to gather when your generals are idle. The assistant general system makes it so that you can have Jindeok as an assistant, so I think that’s ok. However, when you want to step up your gathering game, you will need to switch to a main gathering general eventually. That’s because some of the things you might require: gear, refines, etc, you wouldn’t be able to do with your PvP generals, because they already have what they are specialized for. So I think in the meantime, you could work on your gathering generals for when you will eventually start using them as mains 👌

Thanks 😊🙏 No need for cultivation on assistant generals. No need for gear either 👌 The general’s main skill, skill books and specialties (if you can afford to do them) are all that’s required for assistant generals

How do you switch a skill book? If your general skill book slots are filled? How do you switch the proper skill book?

You can’t select which skill book you switch out. It’s the same process as when you were placing the skill books initially. You just have to get lucky that the right book gets replaced without too much effort. Otherwise, you might end up having to replace all the skill books again. So before you attempt to switch skill books, make sure you have all the books you need ready 👌

That depends on what your focus is. Since you are using Leonidas, I assume you want to buff ground. So you can put some ground books if you want. For siege books, I’d recommend siege HP. But of course, the choice is yours 😉👌

Yeah, I use Himiko and Suleiman for ranged PvP. I only put them on the wall in the video for display purposes. I’ll consider doing a video for undead. As for what wall general, just use your regular wall general 👌

Not entirely sure what you are referring to, but if the general’s skill says “... when leading the army”, the general can be used as an assistant 👌

I think it’s good. I use that combo with Li Jing as Main and Roland as Assistant. But you could use either as main depending on which one you have worked on more.

Trajan works well with both Scipio and Elise. Just use ground hp skill on Trajan if you are using him as assistant. Another thing is have you tried Yue Fei with Hannibal? I have Roland and Yue Fei is working pretty well with Roland. I think he can work well with Hannibal too.

Yeah, I tried Hannibal and Yue Fei. Didn’t work 😔 Unfortunately I have neither Scipio nor Elise 😅 Just making do with what I have available 😇

@@RedEvony ah it sucks. I thought Yue Fei might work with Hannibal too. Also I got Elise two days ago. I had Trajan as my main. I had few speciality on him. So it was easier for me to switch to Elise with trajan as an assistant. It's a pretty good combo.

If the assistant ability for example have 20% attack , and 10% defense if the general is leading the army (does that mean the last ability the 10% wont work if he was assistant like himiko or suliman the magnificent )

Gathering - If Jindiok has no skill books try pairing with Gaius ( and give him the gathering speed books ) - or have gaius lead and jindiok assist Ranged - try Kayuga with alfred or simeon if you have them Ground try Elise with Soult if their star abilities and specialties apply these give a possible massive boost

Marshall with Leonidas is a pretty good combination. Quite a few people that have both are using that combination already 👍 As for refines, it would depend on the amount of troops you have. If you have a lot of mounted troops, then going heavy on the mounted hp would make sense. You can try and reach out to me in-game 👌
