Assisting a Shrink Wrapped Chick

One complication that can occur while hatching is having a chick get “shrink wrapped”. This happens when the inner membrane dries before the chick is able to get out of the shell. It then sticks to the chick and doesn’t allow the chick to leave the shell. Care must be taken to not injure the chick as your helping. Here I demonstrate how I assist a shrink wrapped chick.

I've seen other hatchers whose eggs were in the same condition,with shrink wrapped chicks or ducklings, and they take eye droppers and squirt a few drops down the side of the egg, and put it back inside the incubator and then the little guy eventually wriggle himself out of the egg

Oh gosh! I was so focused on making sure this little guy didn’t die in the shell that I didn’t even think about my nails. I know the video can use some improvements so thank you for the feedback. 😬
