Hello, i am a Quality Analyst for a company called JLodge. And I use Windows Magnifier all day on that. But I use a voice recorder a lot of the time. It helps instead of taking notes. I also have a Victor Reader Trek that I use for podcasts, bard internet radio and quite a few other things as well. I appreciate you doing this video. Seeing what yall use helps others to say, "Hay I didn't even know that was out there." I'm sure it'll help a lot of blind folks like us.

Thanks Rafael! I hope it can help people. :) I use filmora t edit my videos. It's a fun little program which is pretty easy to learn and is at a good price in comparison to some of the crazy video editing software out there.

Hello we have found that the use of puff paint is awesome for putting actual Braille dots on something or encircling like the buttons for a microwave so you know where to press

I use tactile overlay stickers for the oven and microwave, my iPhone, and a magnifying glass every day.. I also have a braille writer, braille labeler, a signature guide and 20/20 pens.

Assistive technology as a visually impaired for me I use my phone for assistive technology I use the magnifier on my phone to be able to read small print on a piece of paper I can use my phone as a digital magnifier and also I can use it as an optical character recognition I find that using my phone as a visually impaired individual helps me out with everyday tasks

Hey Kerry I love using bump on their amazing to put all around I’ve put it on my charges on my TV remote there are useful have you guys ever use the daisy player is basically called Victor reader stream and you can download audiobooks here in the UK we have it as RNIB I’m not sure how it works in the US just a thought

Oh yes! Bump that are amazing. They come in such small packages, but are such big helps. Pablo used to have a Victor reader. And I used to work at a low vision center so I use them a lot. They are pretty great devices!

Well, the first thing I used was a talking clock, and just now when I mistyped clock I remembered another little low tech gadget that I used which was kind of a novelty keychain I just found on a travel rack somewhere. It was a clicker, in the form of a tiny metal frog! Smiley. I wore out a few of them. I used to just try to see if I could tell when I was getting closer to the mall from the outside parking lot areas, or any big building. Also I gave them to my friends, so if we were separated in a store or meeting up at say, inside the mall, we could sort of signal to each other with those little things. Keep in mind mobile phones weren't really widely available back then. Yes, I guess I'm maybe this old, hee! Well long canes, and lots of slates & styluses. A close friend of mine, is the reason I'm more technically advanced beyond that stage. She gave me one of her computers and helped me learn JAWS, and also gave me one of her earlier versions of Envision America ID Mates. I remember the first time we went shopping when she got that thing, we had so much fun! I would not have this phone I'm communicating with y'all here on, if not for her. She claims that I'm the human version of a souped up GPS device. I kind of am. Was kind of born with that. Grew up on the road. Oh! Bluetooth connecting items. NLS Talking Book Player, I use my slates and stylus to braille on clear dymo tape, and have labled my oven controls, and microwaves. I have some bump type items I just found while exploring our downtown hardware store one day. I use a talking level app on my phone. Oh and a really cherished item from my friend was the first thing she ever gave me which is a braille compass. While I can use my phone compass, I love my old style braille compass. It just makes me happy like a sentimental pocket knife does. Smiley. I'm probably forgetting something big and serious. I'll think of it later.

Hey Audrey! That sounds pretty awesome! ☺️ Do you still have some of those clickers? I was actually considering using those locator devices that beeps for finding keys and bags and such and putting it on me or little Pablo and giving the remote to Pablo when we travel on the airport. I saw somebody on KZbin who is a blind couple do something similar and I think it's a really interesting idea. sorry it has taken me so long to get back to your comment and thank you so much. ☺️ it's always a lot of fun to read your comments!

Hi Carrie, I think I have maybe two of those little clicker frogs, that the clicker wore out on, and I used to keep them in a shadow box on my wall. I had to move across from my old apartment after being there thirty years! I moved over to this one in March 2018, but still have not got everything back on the walls. So many wild maintenance issues popped up, after I almost had put everything in its place! So it's a bit like I'm still in the middle of moving in, with no washers and dryers access, and a brand new dishwasher that doesn't really work either. I do have a couple of other clickers that I happened upon that one had been a party favor, and another had been a giveaway trinket from a business fair expo booth. I think that one from the business fair has, "O Cedar" logo on it. Which gives me an idea. 💡 Hee! Those two I have now that work are rectangular shaped small plastic boxes, with a metal piece inside that I push with my thumb. They fit in this film compartment of a purse I have that was probably meant to be a camera bag. So the first place I would check for a clicker would maybe be the party favor aisles of stores. I tend to click with my mouth sometimes if I just have my hands full, and or have no other clues. Oh! I remember now I found the metal frog clickers on the tourist keychain kiosk at Walmart I think. It was a few years back, but they may still have those somewhere. I never think to find that little kiosk when I go in the bigger store now. It is in a different area. I think it's near the one aisle between the cash registers that has all this stuff on it labeled, "As Seen On TV." I know that's goofy sounding, but there really is an aisle with boxes with that logo "As Seen On TV" in Walmart. Some of the stuff seems like it could be pretty neat. One of my friends loves that aisle, and tells me stuff she sees if we get close to it. It tempts me to impulse buy, particularly some of the clothing items. Hahahahaha!

I use CCTV and portable electronic magnifier called the pebble. I don’t use the talking additive technology or grail I have visual impairment but it’s more blurry then other blindness and visual impairment. So I can still see things but the boyfriends just gets in the way. I would love to have a smart home so I wouldn’t have to struggle looking at things when it comes to reading.

The pebble is a great device! I personally love using my smartphone as a mini CCTV, but I also have a CCTV that is has a much bigger screen for more reading. It's great to have technology that empowers us to be more independent. 😊

I have autoimmune disease juvenile rheumatoid arthritis which attacks my vision I have glaucoma only 20% vision left eye I have uveitis iritis I recently had tube put in right eye I’ve had 6 eye surgeries I can’t read my books or enjoy going to book store anymore I can’t see my tv or laptop to play my games my insurance doesn’t cover assistive technology can these glasses help me with everything I mentioned? Do I need digital magnifying device like looky and reading like orcam read? Is it possible to try these Smart glasses NuEyes Pro?

Hi there! I'm so sorry to hear about what's going on with your vision. Actually, there are a lot of free things you can try first! If you have a smartphone, they have magnifier apps there that works similar to a separate video magnifier like you mentioned. If you have iphone, there's a built in magnifier app and if you have android, WeZoom is great. If you're running windows, there is a magnifier application built in, and mac has zoom. There are a lot of other accessibility features built in to phones and computers these days. I have a lot of videos about these different accessibility features for mobile and windows. I've never had the opportunity to try the NuEyes, but I would first try the inexpensive side and then branch out. I hope that helps!

It's something I got of Maxiaids, but I don't recommend it. It's not very accurate for the body fat percentage lol. It's consistent... but consistently wrong. I want to get one of those smart scales like from fitbit or garmin. They're just much more expensive. That way you can read the results on the iphone or android.

Hello. Are you thattalking portable clock, Alexa, I D mate galaxy reader/scanner, jaws on my computer, bump dots on the microwave, A tile on my keychain to find my phone and/keys, and the white cane. Script talk for my medicines The galaxy reads keys and find my phone. The ID mate galaxy reason by Kohl’s and has millions of preloaded information. If the information is not in the system I can make my own label using my own voice.

Live Accessible I was introduced to digit eyes. I hate it with a passion. It was very, very difficult to find the barcode for me. I only have light perception. I will scan the barcode with the ID mate, and then try to use digitize and still could not find the barcode. With the ID mate, I can scan whatever I’m scanning kind of fast and it still finds the Bacco very easily. Yes, it is kind of pricey but, I feel that it was very worth it. It has change my life completely. I’ve been using ID mate for about four years.
