Asso Tapered Line Monofilament Review

Disclaimer: This is an unbiased review and lines could vary between different batches. I have purchased this myself and this is what I have received so this is what I have tested. Break tests and other specs vary depending on how manufacturers test their lines.
Here I review a fishing line to see if it really lives up to its advertised specs.

I test my lines with knots as I feel it is the closest way I can mimic the lines being used the way they are used in fishing... with knots tied to end tackles like hooks, swivels, clips, etc.
And in this video, I tested this tapered line using Uni Knots on both ends - the thin section that attaches to your main line, as well as the thick section - the one that attaches to your rigs and lead weights.
Now, a lot of factors can go into the result of the actual break test. Things such as knots, inconsistent line diameter, surface and/or diameter of the wire on the end tackle, etc. - all can play a part.
So I suggest you test your lines with end tackles that YOU actually use.
Also, in this video, I tried the tapered line against a tapered shock leader on a main line set up, and I just could not tell the difference between the two!
