it's very interesting how Gale and Shadow acknowledge Astarion's problems when you have to choose between them. Shadow mentions sth about not wanting to hurt his feelings because she knows there's so much trauma underneath and Gale essentially confirms what I've always been saying about good Tav + Astarion romance, Tav is the only person that can help him get better.

I KNOW! As Durge I flirted with him hard, zero subtlety. I only messed around with Astarion because he wasn't hard to reach. By the time Durge fell for Astarion, that's when Gale reciprocated her flirtations, but it was TOO LATE.

gale and astarion generally seem to dislike each other. they're like oil and water. their relationship gets a little bit better in act 3 when gale becomes a bit more chaotic and ambitious but otherwise they're just incompatible. Gale thinks astarion is a "rake" and has a bit of an superiority complex about being "the good guy" and Astarion seems liked gale in act 1 but probably picked up on the fact that Gale dislikes him so he's like "fuck that guy. i tried being nice."

Before they did the big Gale romance patch(es), I got this cutscene from him....while having never had any other romance interactions with the man and exclusively romancing Astarion. It was kind of funny, but mostly I felt bad for Gale having seemingly misread my Tav the entire time so, so badly. I am intentionally romancing Gale this time though and it's been very nice.

Yeah I got a similar scene with Gale and I chose the option that was something like “I didn’t know you felt that way about me” and he got embarrassed and said he may have misunderstood or something, and then I asked to remains friends, which he agreed to.

He falls so easily. When it got to this point I was confused. I didn’t really hang out with him or anything. Didn’t speak to him. Nothing. So I have vampire hubby and a wizard who greets me so bitterly it hurts despite the fact I didn’t have anything to do with him. Worse is when this happened their tents were right beside each other. The book boys. I always shot him down when he tried talking about romance. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Dude! Have some self respect.

@@bearrhiplays I was able to figure it out. I had to make sure it didn’t come down to me picking which one I wanted to end up with. So I went back three hours and re did it where I ended things with astarion before the issues arose and I was able to unlock gales romance.

From my understanding, this was played and recorded when there was bug (before patch 1 was released). This could've been the cause but I'm not entirely sure; I flirted with both Gale and Astarion before choosing Astarion at the time of recording this. 🥲

It's just for me I could get a romance with Will and Astarion at the same time because I dansed or kissed Will (I don't quite remember) at the party and then convinced Astarion I wanted to spend night with him. And in act 2 Will invited me to danse, but I thought I broke up with him when I slept with Ast, but no. So I got similar conversation with Astarion but about Will. And I would like to have the sane about Gale but I don't think it's possible for now.. I only don't know what will happen if you have high approval with Ast and he invites you to sleep together before the party, what will happen at the party - will other companions invite you as well...
