Astarion jealous? | Baldur's Gate 3

Halsin wanted to do the biz but I told him I was already with Astarion. Didn't know the bear was fine with multiple people.
I had saved beforehand so I went back and told Halsin no and I was with Astarion. I was juat curious to see what Astarion would say if I went to him about it. Don't worry Astarion. I'm yours!

His face gives it away. He's disappointed, nervous even. He doesn't want to lose Tav. After all he's been through and after finally fully opening up and being volnerable with Tav, I really don't think it's fair on Astarion to accept Halsin's proposition.

I only did this cause I was curious but I had saved and went back and told Halsin nope entirely cause I wanted to be with Astarion.

@@fujiyama-mtI did the same, but I immediately went back and said no. I wish you could tell Halsin no after talking to Astarion. I think it would feel a bit more like a natural way to say no. Especially if you need to say no when your partner can’t for themselves yet.

Yeah I only saved at that point because I was just curious - I just couldn’t do it in my actual play through.

Orrrrr maybe take him seriously for one second. He tells you no a lot and I mean a LOT in this game, he also tells you no if you propose to share with any other companion, but now he's suddenly a poor little thing that doesn't know how to defend his boundaries? How come lol?

I have heard if you look into the code, he is apparently genuine. I had an option to ask why he wasn't bothered and he said the druid was used to arrangements like this, or something to that effect. He doesn't really care because he knows Tav/Durge/Origin is HIS.

@@fujiyama-mt No need to explain. It wasn't intended as a criticism of you. I've been cheated on in the past, and there's nothing more hurtful and heartbreaking. So, it's just a reaction I have to situations concerning infidelity. Thanks for the reply, though.

Polyamory isn't unfaithfulness. It's an agreement between all involved parties. Edit: Saying that, I also am incredibly squicked out by infidelity. I just think this isn't that. ♥

Halsin straight up tells you to get your partners permission first. It’s not cheating if everyone is aware and consents.

Regardless of consent (which is always important, of course), any situation in which a person has more than one partner makes those partners feel less special, less loved, and less important. As if they are not enough to make their significant other happy and satisfied. I have never personally been in such a relationship, nor would I ever be, so this opinion is based solely on the very few anecdotes I have heard from friends and acquaintances (and how I would personally feel if involved in such a situation). It always seems to lead to feelings of inadequacy, and it honestly seems like an excuse or permission for a person to be unfaithful without it being defined as "cheating". Someone is unwilling to commit to a single partner, so they have a couple or a few to feel that they're getting some variety. "I can't get what I need from you alone." Well, then you don't deserve me. Polyamory and polygamy still sicken me, regardless of those involved giving consent.
