On another note: could you make a tutorial on how you record the cutscenes in 4K and slow-motion? I'd like to keep some memento's from my very first playthrough, so I'm gonna reload some old saves and see whether I can rewatch some cutscenes, but I'm already at the end of act one of my very first playthrough, and I'm kicking myself for not making more manual saves and installing the mods sooner.. I have downloaded the mods, and intend to experiment a bit, but any help would be greatly appreciated. So if you have a patreon channel with some how-to's, please share :).

Hi! Thank you for your feedback, much appreciated 🤗 I don't have a patreon or plan to make tutorials, I do this just for fun (for now?). I use the free cam mod by Otis (see description) and the software OBS studio for acquisition (free). In OBS, you need to change the settings to get maximum quality of video acquisition and 60 fps (frame per second), very important to get smooth slow motion. To get the slow motion, I use the Otis camera mod to reduce the speed of the game (see the "keybinds" menu to see/change which keys to use for that) For editing, I used DaVinci resolve for this one, and recently started using CapCut which is easier to use but with less fine tuning options. Hope that helps :-)

@@nepharisHi, thank you so much for your reply! It's very helpful, though it makes me a bit hesitant to even start. I don't usually have any computer trouble in daily life, but this sounds fairly tech-y. I already have the Otis camera mod, but decided to remove it temporarily because it was causing gameplay issues, and Larian is going to make the game more mod-friendly in future, so maybe I'll save it for a future playthrough. In the meantime, I'll just come back to this again and again to refresh my memory and see the standard I'm hoping to live up to :)

It might sound techy, but like for everything with time you get a hang of it and the best way to get better is to keep trying :-) I barely had any experience in video before, I just did a lot of photography and had some ideas I wanted to try so I tried and focused on my visions and how the final work made me feel. I first and foremost tried to show what I knew I wanted to see and most importantly what would make me feel emotions, that was my guide. I assumed that if I feel something watching what I made then at least some others might feel something too. So my advice would be to always keep an eye on your goal, even if it is vague or abstract, and remember that art is a way to share emotions first and foremost, so trust your own emotional feedback :-) The rest, the tech and all, are just tools to do what you want to do. I knew I wanted smooth slow motion and high quality cinematic visuals so I got those tools to serve my goal, not the opposite. Also, keep in mind that the first thing you do will never be perfect, but it will be the necessary stepping stone to improve. Don't try to go for perfect the first time, go for finished and then see what you can improve. Good luck on your projects, don't hesitate to share if you make anything :-)

I use the Otis free cam mod (link in description, you need to sub the patron but if you can afford it it is worth it), and you can use the mod to change the speed of the game to get slow motion 🤗

The slow motion option is actually in the free cam mod, in the settings you can slow down the game speed. As for other scenes, problem is having to make it safe for work for youtube, I am not sure I like that cause it might take out the vibe 😅

I've seen romance scenes of Gale for example but with Astarion acting like Gale, or Halsin lines in the Gale's epilog scene. But I have no idea how to do that..
