I like that he's got lines for Emmrich and Taash. Such a sweetheart. I love that Lucanis notes your favorite drink etc (he's my favorite romance), however this quest also cements the fact that Rook is overlooked and sidelined by the rest of the Veilguard very often. Lucanis buys gifts for everyone but you (and like in the video, you can buy him a gift) and in codex entries it's clear that the group is bonding without Rook as we don't even get to participate in or reference book club, camping, shopping with the team etc, meaning Rook was not present. Out of all our DA protagonists, Rook has the weakest connection/relationship with their companions.

That's on purpose. Even in cutscenes where they're all gathered together, Rook stands apart from them. It's designed to create the feeling of isolation that comes with the role he's been thrown into and the losses he suffers along the way.

@@yanagoyathe writers are all Dragon age veteran writers & one from Mass effect, so I guess those games don’t have nuance or depth either then in their stories.

Welp... I just did this in my current playthrough, and now I'm gonna reload and save it for after I get everyone. I always wondered about Emmrich's wine glasses line to Lucanis at the end!

He does buy you tea if you mention that’s your favourite. He tells you he stocked up of you go by the kitchen at the lighthouse.

@@francescalee2497 yes, there's something similar if you say you like the hot chocolate. but he could have bought you something you could use as decor to your room, you know? something cosmetic and thoughtful based on what he already knows about you, like he did for the others. it would have been even sweeter

@ can you imagine the nightmare of doing recordings and coding for that, though. Depending on your Rook, they’d have to have different stalls and different items. Then have the VA do multiple recordings of the various items. Remember how in DAO Alistair is the only one who gives you anything, and it’s always a rose? Besides, up until the cafe meeting, you and Lucanis haven’t talked that much yet. Nobody (including the player) knows what Rook wants or needs. If you look at what he buys, they’re all quite practical things except for Emmrich’s wineglasses. (But Emmrich might see them as quite essential)

Hey this is really cool because honestly I didn't know this was an option. Probably because I always complete all side quests first before I do the main story lol. It's a shame that Lucanis buys a gift for everyone except for Rook? Even Rook buys a gift for HIM. :,)

I saved just before this mission. As soon as I heard he had lines for Neve, Harding, and Bellara I reloaded my last save and waited till I got everyone 😅 was totally worth it 😂. Thanks for uploading so I can rehear it 😊

Am I correct in assuming this quest can only be done in an unblighted Treviso? So if you plan to save Minrathous, you should to this quest before recruiting Davrin?

My advice? Do all character-specific and side-quests, and save the main-story scenario for when you feel ready to move the plot along. Better safe than sorry, and there's no penalty for taking your time.

Are you able to pick up the quest, go get Davrin, choose to save Treviso and STILL go do this?? Or do I need to just put off talking with Lucanis until after I go thru all that?? Not sure how long companion quests will stick around. I know I had one for Taash, went and did something else and they went off and did it anyway, so I just wanna be sure what the steps are for this

Yep, Lucanis leaves you if you choose to save Minrathous instead of Traviso, also he sounds like a creep sometimes and you know he has a demon, not safe, but i don’t really like any romance of this game, is all wrong and boring xD

OOOOOH Jesus. I can tell he'd exhaust me. I like conversations, but like conversations that go somewhere. I'll listen if you feel like rambling to fill in the quiet. Just don't have those conversations where I have respond. Solas was fun to talk to, when he was done he was done there were no little add ons of nothing that isn't obvious. this guy is exhausting. In real life, I would be like "uh huh......uh huh......I suppose so....oh not starbu--*siiiiigh* ok.....uh huh....uh huh...No I don't want anything. Yes, I'm sure, no I'm serio-I can't eat the cake I have Celiac--omg. Oooooooh great your cousin is here. Dear god someone save me." I genuinely think there is no one in this game I could have a romance with. I thought the hot guy would have the most work put into his character.
