Just auditioned the onyx black a few hours ago. Really size to performance defying. I currently have the 240. AK did a good job, again in terms of SQ. Auditioned the sp1000, too. Seems u need to either collect them all just keep 1. Someone mentioned another DAP the Cowon, it has a different flavor to the sound signature. They're not the same...

Astell & kern is great high performance player. But it's too expensive. I think Cowon plenue is better choice. Cowon is High quality, great sound, amazing discount event. I got Plenue M2 (300 dollar) It was 800 dollar.

They’ve made it even better 18% Reduction in volume smaller battery and old software only thing that’s better is the sound quality very disappointing I always want more not less. They haven’t done a full job on it because of the old software it's not future-proof

Why do these so called high end players always have a outdated OS (This has the old android 6.0 OS instead of android 8.1)? Plus why do these players like to omit google play store, as a result the user has to unnecessarily fumble through side loading apps which may or may not work properly ? Mobile phones like the LG V30+ and the upcoming LG V40 mobile phones have an excellent ESS Sabre DAC. Why would anyone pay 3 times as much to get less features and performance that is marginal at best, is beyond me.

did you listen to this so called high end players?? So u think by just using a good DAC result it sound good?? Is all about implementation.. Fiio X5iii and AK380 has the same AK4490 DAC but does it sound the same?? NO... About Google Play Store, that is depend on user.. some user just want to play song but some need more than just play song..

@@mihirchitnis905 It doesnt run on full android OS, AK has a proprietary OS based on android, so its core version doesnt really matter, AK has its own optimizations. I have the V30+ phone and while it sounds very good for the phone, even the AK A&Norma model, which is their new entry level, sounds miles away better than LG. You just cant compare a high quality DAP to the phone in terms of sound. The DAC chipset alone doesnt mean much. AK makes products for fanatics of sound. If you're not one of them, the V30 will work perfectly for you. If you want a desktop-like serious sound - then you go for AK or other brands of portable audio.

Listen to one and you will discover a whole new world of portable music player. I owned 3 daps. Lolz.... That's how crazy it is once you felt in love with your music again. I have ak320, fiio X5iii and a LPG.
