alice wu (director of this film) said that the slap was meant for ellie, that’s why aster kept her eyes locked on ellie while she did it. because ellie hurt aster through paul, so aster did the same thing back by hurting ellie through paul.

Ok that makes more sense because I was really mad she slapped him😢 but im also biased when it comes to paul now because i fell in love with his character in the short hour and 45 minutes ☺he is my smol bean that just wants some love.❤

exactly and reason why i loved that part. it was a direct hit at Ellie for pretending.

Love is messy, horrible, selfish and bold. It's not finding your perfect half, it's trying reaching and failing. Love is being willing to ruin your good painting, for the chances of real want. Is this really the boldest stroke that you can make ?
@visualpun6504 жыл бұрын
What Ellie says here about love (really it is more regarding the pursuit of love, than practicing love) is not completely at odds with the "Love is patient, love is kind" love wisdom quote from the Bible. "Trying, reaching and failing... and then trying again".... isn't that a good definition of "love persevering"? The verse is not about the feelings of love or falling in love. It is about how one needs to act to love someone. It is action and attitude. A person who seeks regularly to love the people around them... as prescribe in that verse....will find they will make quite "bold" strokes when it counts. Google the verse. It is quite amazing.

Why do you dislike Trig? Trig actually seems like a really likable character. Unlike other movies, he isn't a rapist that takes advantage of other people. He seems like he really cares about Aster.

Am I the only one that feels bad for Paul, all he wanted to do was to speak to a girl he liked but didn't believe in himself to just be himself and by the end of the movie there is no equilibrium for him and have a chance to apologise...

oh for sure, i was in his shoes once and sometimes talking to your crush can be very nerve wracking but it's better to go for it then regret not trying, as Spiderverse said "that's all it is, it's a leap of faith"
