Haruka was 15-16 here (can't remember exactly) and is in the same time period as the Dawn performance you watched. Both this song and Dawn are off their first album Ignition and all the songs on Ignition were written when Haruka was between the ages of 11 and 15.

Loved them from the first tracks I heard by them. Amazing musicians. I think they are only in the age range of 16-18years here. HAL-CA has only recently started to sing and her vocals are not bad and will get better over time I prefer the instrumentals at the moment but that might change. I think if they want to get more fans and grow bigger they will have to do a mix of instrumentals and vocals pure instrumental bands tend not to get huge followings. Some fans might not like this but think of it from the bands point of view and the economics. They need to make a decent living to buy a home, food etc.or they will fold. Another band that are fantastic musicians and purely instrumental are D_Drive with the fantastic Yuki as one of the guitarists. They are not nearly as big as they deserve to be

Asterism without singing. I’m in heaven. 😁

They are now firmly in my top five power trios of all time, a list which includes Cream, Hendrix and SRV. I would be happy if they never add vocals but I know they have to do that to get a wider audience.

They've already added them for the last two EPs. Thankfully, they do their own vocals, leaving them as the stars they deserve to be instead of sidemen for some random singer.

Yes this is an early show (although they have even earlier ones). This is in front of a home town crowd in Fukuoka and is an epic show.

there is something about the current (and recent) music scene in Japan, across multiple genres, that I find really engaging - they have a way of combining old school with modern that sounds fresh...

If you were lucky enough to see Cream (1966-68) or the Hendrix Experience. Then you know what a trio can be musically. Well, Asterism has joined those elite groups and likely will outpace them before they are through. I know Hal-Ca is singing now, but I truly hope they don't forget their roots as their instruments sound better than any vocal offering, IMHO. A mix of vocals is fine, but the musical gifts these 3 have should never be replaced with a vocal offering no matter how good Hal-Ca gets with her vocals.

Close, but actually Blaze is firmly rooted in early 80s Thrash, specifically Hit the Lights by Metallica.😄💪🏻🤘🏻
