My humble, half-educated guess on this one? Well, it helps to view comets as clusters. Sure, there might be rocks in comets, but they also contain liquids and gases that boil off as they travel in space. Usually it's simple stuff, water ice melting and boiling off, carbon gas (C2) leaking out. But we know that sometimes comets can contain more complex organic compounds. Asteroids can have the basic building blocks of life, and other substances in them. And sometimes the substances are lookalikes, they look superficially like stuff we recognize, but the chemistry is off. Maybe it's a right-handed version of a normally lefty chemical (wrong chirality) or maybe the stuff has a metal atom or a reactive branch it should not have. Whatever it is specifically (it could be a chemically incorrect alcohol molecule for our life), it appears that life on Earth can't digest this stuff or break it down normally, and it, whatever it is, causes rapid intoxication that leads to illness and brain damage. And like fetanyl, it can be breathed in and/or transmitted by casual contact. Unlike that drug though, this stuff basically lowers inhibitions while keeping "fight or flight" reactions spiked and in a permanent "Fight" state. Meaning, this stuff's going to be hard to mitigate. All you can do is decontaminate people as soon as possible, and keep the intoxication and brain damage from getting worse, because sobering up never comes.

I know, I know, it's long, but you can do it. first circle: level of caution SECURE: no threat, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where only mantaining calmness is necessary or just a request of attention. Examples: "teleporting planet-first contant" and "birthday" episodes. BENIGN: no particular threat, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where calmness and some low-grade measures at a personal level are required. Examples: "Agonia Cerebri-source" and "Missuori River-chemical spill" episodes. AWARE: non-ignorable threat, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where calmness, middle and high-grade personal measures and goverment intervention are required. Examples: "World War III" and "Radiation leakage- Chinon Nuclear Power Plant" episodes. DANGER AND HAZARD: highest level of threat, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation than require immediate and heavy goverment intervention, even at an international and global level. Danger refers to a threat that immediatly affect the populance, when a Hazard is more connected with a disastrous variation that don't immediatly affect anyone. Examples: quite a lot, but as references, "Rapid aging" and "Replicas" episodes. second circle: disruptiveness SAFE: little to no disruptive capabilities, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where the population might be alarmed, but no harm has been made. Examples: "Teleporting planet-public announcement" and, again, "Birthday" episodes. VARCO: some disruptive capabilities, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where harm has been made against some people, and someone might have been killed. Examples: "Terror attack-school bus" and "Containment breach-SCP 745" episodes. URKAN: confirmed disruptive capabilities, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where lots of people were harmed and killed, causing structular damages and distress in the populance. Examples: "The fog" and "Blood rain" episodes. UMBRA: great disruptive abilities, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where large part of the populance are being harmed and obbligated to take grave measures such as stocking resources, difending themselves and moving away from the interested zones, causing major distress there and in many other parts of the world. many will problably die. Examples: "Asteroid Impact" and "food shortage" episodes. PANDORA: immense disruptive capabilities, the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where all umanity is endangered, a catastrophe. All umans almost surely die. Examples: "Sun expands" and "Oceans evaporate" episodes. third circle: event tipology CHEMIA: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where chemicals and radioattive elements are involved. GERMIA: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where biological agents are involved. STELLARIA: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where celestial bodies are involved. TECHNIA: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where tecnologies are involved. MUNDUA: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where the same anomaly persists at a global level. AVIA: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where air and possible anomalies of it are involved. CLADISIS: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where geological and enviromental (but local) anomalies are involved. VIVIUM: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where animals and other normal living beings are involved. BELLUM: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where use of weapons and warfare is involved. ANOMALIA: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where uncanny, otherworldly creatures are involved. PHAENOMIUM: the EAS scenario rappresents a situation where strange and unexplanable events of various nature are involved. N/A: self explanatory (Birthday video).
