The only reason the Round Table function for a time is because their loyalty to the king. They broke each other in later times from Lancelot and Guinevere scandal and other personal problems.

I mean, in some retellings about what happened after Arthur death, there are mensions of a figure like Merlin in the Chansons de geste and other tales regarding the Charlemagne and his Paladins so in the world of FGO, I wouldn't cross the idea that Merlin went on to other major factions and kinda helped them or inspired them, further improving what he learnt from Camelot's fall.
