This Villa team took Man City to pieces, then beat Arsenal 3 days later. They beat Arsenal 2-0 at the Emirates, with half their squad out injured. They have been fantastic this season and a breath of fresh air to the Premier League, I think they will do well in the CL next season and I can't wait to see it... And lets face it they can't possibly embarrass England the way Man Utd did this season.

​​@@matthewjackson3408I would argue they were extremely unlucky this season. They have a 'no excuse' culture and next season, with the extra maturity gained, they will be better next season. If you follow Villa you will see how Emery is developing consistency and raising its standards. You can't look at Newcastle to draw your Champions League correlations because they have very different managers and with vastly different European experiences.

Not one 'penalty' goal by Ollie Watkins. Inflated total by Cole due to his penalties shows that Ollie is streets ahead of him! Not being in a Big (Greedy) Six club should, in a fair unbiased world, be in Ollie's favour but I won't hold my breath over BRILLIANT Ollie being Player of the Year. As for Manager of the Year, no one - NO ONE has done a better job than Unai Emery!

Villa will have kamara, migs ,buendia, ramsey, all back. Add in Rodgers and 1 or 2 signings ,probably full backs to address goals conceded from crosses and villa have plenty of squad depth, they need to chande very little,kamara was a huge loss for half a season and they still look like making CL!!

Beat City, double over Arsenal, beat Spurs and drew with Liverpool best record of top 5 teams. Three seasons ago stayed up by 1 point, final match of the season. Emery took Villa from 17th to 7th and Euro football first time in 20+ years. First full season Emery has flirted with 4th all season, got to the Conference SF's despite having a small squad, key player injuries from day 1. A no excuses mentality, a strong work ethic and if you lose you learn, you dust off and go again.
