Aston Villa hit stunning late double to deal huge blow to Arsenal's Premier League title hopes

Arsenal's Premier League title hopes were dealt a huge blow by Unai Emery, who returned to stun his former club as Aston Villa claimed a 2-0 win at the Emirates.
The result may not be quite as devastating as their shock home defeat to Brighton that all but ended their title hopes last May, but Arsenal have once again handed the initiative to Manchester City after a stunning late collapse against Villa.
Mikel Arteta's side would have returned to the top of the Premier League with victory and were even handed a boost before kick-off when Liverpool slumped to defeat against Crystal Palace.

Unai Emery what a manager since taking the Villa job there's been 10 games in London for us with 3 draws and 7 wins in a city we were notoriously horrendous beforehand. Let's gooo let's make it 11 games played 3 draws 8 wins against Palace to end the Premier League season off on a bang but we've got 6 cup finals potentially 8 before then to deal with before that game to hopefully set us up for the big one after it in Athens UTV

Yep, Manchester City will be the EPL champions again after Arsenal's humiliating performance against a well-organised and determined Aston Villa under Unai Emery. Arteta took the wrong approach, and Aston Villa unquestionably deserved to win. What surprises me is that Arteta also makes incorrect subs. Although Kai Havertz has performed well in recent matches, this one was not for him, and Arteta should have known and made a change rather than keeping him on the pitch. Arteta should have considered defending instead of winning in the 80th minute because Unai Emery was there to cause an upset, which they did. Arteta bears responsibility for the loss. Another season without a trophy, and I do not see Manchester dropping any points from now on. And most likely, we will drop more points now and even lose to Bayern Munich in the second leg of the UCL. Well, good luck to Arsena. Gunner for Life!
