I am amazed you won with the Plank. I think the Flamer and Nuke were perfectly appropriate for this build. That explosion size was incredible! 😀

I was amazed that it was winnable at all, and then even more amazed that it actually felt pretty solid! I guess flamethrower is just that broken :P

You mentioned not knowing which side your upgraded plank was, there is a weapon outline setting that would let you know.

True! I totally forgot about that option. I remember finding it distracting when I first tried it but that was a long time ago and I might need to revisit it. Good call!

Loving this series! I’ve been trying to get a win with the same combo as your random runs. It’s made me realize how much I love elemental builds for sure haha

Thanks! It's really fun getting to do so many elemental runs, I mostly ended up not doing them in the guides because there's so few characters they're the *best* option for, but they're second-best on a lot I think

The normal piercing of the flamethrower still exists, it's just applied after the bounce. Since the bounce can be to any enemy on the screen, the *direction* of the piercing is less useful to you, as compared to its non-bounce direction when standing still.

Yeah, I should have been clearer about what I meant - the behaviour of bouncing on the first enemy contacted is a lot worse than piercing in a straight line

Have you ever considered getting that tooltip mod, you can use it to see how much damage your turrets did, or burning sausage, cyberball, etc. And also it automatically calculates item stats depending on what class you are playing.

I have! I decided not to for the guides because I didn't want to confuse people by showing things they wouldn't be seeing, but now that I've finished those it's definitely worth revisiting. Good suggestion!

I would like to see how you would approach streamer using either pruners or sticks. Melee weapons are definitely harder, but these two weapons specifically work very well with streamer’s mechanics. The early game is harder, but the late game tends to be very strong because of how tanky you get.

For sure - pruners especially are a rough start since you won't be clearing the enemies as quickly, but the healing and income are great of course! Honestly I think Plank might be the hardest weapon for streamer and it went pretty well, so I'm inclined to think they're all winnable.

I believe capping speed in the negative prevents you from going further negative. At least that's what happened to me in an earlier version. Not sure if it's been changed since. But if it's still true, you can cap it in the negative but still rise to positive speed.

Interesting! I haven't seen that behavior and I'd assume it's a bug if that's how it works. I'll have to test it out!

Can we see a Cacti Club run? The range damage scaling spines always seem strong to me but fall short.

For sure! Cacti clubs have the problem of needing both ranged and melee damage to scale, which really holds them back. I use them in my Generalist class guide though if you haven't seen that one, and they're good on Apprentice as well

@@Cephalopocalypse I tried it on the apprentice. Even got some scared sausages and penetration. Seems much more powerful than runs I've done in the past with it. Still can't beat danger 5 😂
