Very nice solution there. A good one. For ease, cut ta wire on that sensor and put in a switch. Wire it into the car so I can enable/disable the sensor from the comfort of the drivers seat. Thank you I was looking for a place to put a switch and that is a easy one. 👍

Goodmoring everyone, my astra 1.7 CDTI,1686cm, 74 kw 2095 have the same issues. I use starting spray to make first start. On computer mine is showing no problem. I have changed glown plugs ,oil filter, oil , clean the tank, new bettry. Changed timing belt But nothing is helping me. After 1st start it is like new car. I am pushing her hard sometime upto 180 km. But never feel any noise. Only first start and late night after working i feel annoying. Otherwise i love this car. I am going to change SCV valve pump. Regard

is it the temperature sensor that you unplugged ? if yes, replacing that sensor will help ! (misreading)

I have same on astra h, unplug the thermostat coolant temp plug and car thinks it's -40 and starts from cold no problem. Glowplugs are not operated until -2 so normal first starts from cold can be slow. Also you can put throttle to floor which help the start. Unfortunately there can be several reasons why this is happening and new coolant sensor probably won't solve the problem.

the solution would be to hotwire the glow plug relay and manually preheat when the car does not preheat itself.

this is not solution. Unpluging temp sensor does that ecu thinks that engine is hot, it uses glowplugs and different CA adjusment. thats why it starts more easely when unpluged. But this is not the solution. Solution is removeing the problem, not overrideing it.
