I can't believe this will be 2 years old in five days... I miss all the url shows that happened during 2020. appleville was definitely one of my favorites and this set is such a standout! it was super fun to watch live. back then there was so much energy surrounding the pc music / hyperpop scenes. an incredible amount of good music came out in like a 6 month period centered around that summer... everything feels so different now.

​@@gafreitas485 oh, for sure! i reckon a decent amount of hyperpop/pc fans consumers were already home-bodies pre-2020 (personally, i only ventured outside 17x during 2019, and came across way too many redditors in similar hibernation). frfr, if some of these pc-poppers had not specified they were post/stream shows as virus accommodations, wouldve genuinely thought it was just a logical way of reaching those of us that are "kinda scared of crowds/[so] just fek twinks and chill inside [our] house"-- the energy was that amazing, and twas about time the online partying stepped it up, as shyness/agoraphobia & down-vibes/good music have surprisingly never been mutually exlusive. Anyone else been waiting ages for something like that PC-2020 wave?! ... this quality of music, the shamelss irreverant-shy-adhd outburst of it all? and, most of all, this unprecedented volume of social participation in independent (music) media. myspace teased this as a possibility, yet iirc the platforms beginnings mostly gave Tila Tequila, Jeffree Star, and these dime-a-dozen Super-Straight-Screamo bands (think middle school garage band "music skills", and, all with lyrics boasting unvaried, ignorant 9/11 bumper-sticker-hottakes, plus this was all seasoned with unironic striped fedoras complimenting the scarf+short sleeve T combo). clearly 00s social media lacked the framework to produce those cascading waves of serotonin/adrenaline like that which the gaming industry had executed (plus, such leaps in game tech in just that lil 90s-00s span). In fact, hyperpop seems to be the logical conclusion to what myspace sort-of started. in retrospect, looks like a lot of early 00's content wasn't done cooking-- & maybe needed smartphone tech to relieve the pressure from all the other corporate internet/tech/cable-tv/movies dominating the fight for consumer attention. TLDR: any other shut-ins out there that been (almost unwittingly) waiting for PC/Hyperpop since birth of Myspace?! lol (imho, considering the 20+ year wait-- this scene bloody delivered!)
