Fuken awesome show, you hit it on the nail at around ~1:28:00 I watch damn near every Guard battle rep i can find, to the point im watching in full Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, and German content 😅 BUT; I have yet to see the exterminator auto withering hail stacked with Fields of Fire. Im genuinely not surprised the guard win rate is so bad, a bunch of ppl talking about their lists going UP in cost. The arty SPAM wasnt working anyway. I digress, Guard is ultra good at obliteriating one target on the field, when the GK deepstrikes half his army it basically creates a funnel effect, 300 style. Good work Mordian, but I agree with you, you guys need to get the matchups right. That GK army woulda been fun to watch against Straken and 80 Catachans, whereas that DKoK and double Exterminator list would be an even match for the Necron list. Good luck next time

I had the same match yesterday. I won with t'Guard, but only because my Banesword did real MVP stuff. He tanked Draigo while murdering a 5 man squad almost every turn.

Been inspired to finally take the plunge and start myself an Astra Militarum army. Thinking of a mostly mechanised infantry force with a Rogal Dorn (maybe 2?) for heavy fire support. The army list chat certainly makes it seem like a solid tank to have two of. Although that'd mean no money for any Lemon Russ tanks. Which would be a shame..

They teleport at the end of your opponents turn. Not movement phase. I think it was used ok in this game, though could have been better.

termis (and drago) have lethal hits on charges. Just saying. They can actually do some solid anti tank on charge due to that.

For the Supreme Command Squad: I like having 3 Mortars in there and if there are 20pts to Spare: DrillCommander Enh. The Hope is having a Homefield Objective that has not only the Lrod Solat on it but can actually throw some wounds out (you do have to Drop the Flag though)

I'm fairly new to warhammer and haven't even played my first game, picking GKs and then 10th coming out a month later saw to that! Great to see them in action. 26:35 you said +1 to hit for take aim and +1 to hit from a taking a casualty. i might be wrong because my knowledge isnt great but i thought you could only modify a hit roll by 1 either way? a Necron leader giving +1 and heavy giving +1 doesnt stack if im correct, or is it just because that could make a warrior blob with a royal warden hit on 1+ ?

Take aim improves ballistic skill by 1, and then you get +1 to hit. Two separate things. They stack really well

@@patykaarplegos6282 oh daymn I checked the rulebook on the 40k app cos i wasn't sure and it says, "Some dice rolls can never be modified by more than -1 or +1 (eg hit rolls)... if the total modifier would be +2 or better it is changed to +1" Emphasis on HIT ROLLS, so Ballistic skill is modified before the hit roll. Geez that's really good, i didn't even know you could modify ballistic skill. Guard look like a lot of fun with all the buffing. It looks like I had a mini Dunning-Kruger effect, i learnt a little bit and assumed i knew everything haha

Good game, good sportsmanship, but man that was brutal. I could tell from the moment I saw the GK army it wasn't going to last long. They lack almost all the powers and psychic abilities they had in 9th ( and even then those weren't that good) and they suffer for it. After the latest update, the only way it looks they can be viable is by adding in significant standard armor. Either things like Land Raiders and Dreadnoughts, or attaching some Imperial Knights and using the teleport shenanigans on the GK infantry to focus on objectives.

Grey Knights actually look good when played well (at least from their tourney win rate since the balance dataslate). Simon is rusty with them (understandably so), but they can definitely do a lot of good stuff (their mobility is insane). You just can't rely on their stats alone anymore.

I thought if one model from the unit was in cover then they are all in cover from that unit

No. Only that model is. So if you wanna alocate wounds to that model first (which you usually do) and it's literally the only one that has cover then you gotta roll them one at a time until that model dies, at which point the remaining wounds have to be allocated to the ones outside of cover. That being said, cover is so easy to get in 10th that you'll rarely run into this situation (since a model has to be FULLY seen by every model in the attacking unit for it to not get cover).

So you prefer double plasma over one plasma and one vox? Can you tell us why? It seems like have one vox in the unit is the way to go but that’s just my opinion. Your thoughts? Super interested since your list here is kinda what I’m building right now, except my leman russes are all demolishers.

Lord Solar gives you a free CP every turn. Having a vox is useless, since you're capped for 1 CP per turn, in infantry units other than the Master Vox from command Squads.

@@LB-yg2br I think you are talking about Krieg specifically because the others can just take Vox Casters without giving up anything right? In that case I'd say yes, albeit you may wanna look at the upcoming tournament discussion, where mordian took pure infantry without lord solar and see if he ran vox casters on krieg (I think he may not have, but I may be wrong).

@@jasongarfitt1147 In the Emperor's Gift it was made clear (or at least as clear as 40k canon ever is lol) that the "no witness" policy was the Inquisition's thing, the GK focused almost entirely on killing the target daemons, daemoniacs, and their minions.

Battline Squads in the Guard can have 2 leaders attached. Its on the back of the datacard :)
