Excellent video, spot on! I recommend using the locking button while following this instruction, as the locks will engage as a confirmation upon successful synchronization. Done this on my mother's '02 Opel Astra a few times now. For anyone who can't get their key/car resynchronized, do the following: open the remote and remove the battery, wait for 5-10 seconds and then reinsert the battery. Then follow the instructions of this video and use the locking button for solid confirmation of successful synchronization. You can lock/unlock the car with the remote while inside it. BE AWARE: Inside the key remote, there's a small chip (apparent as a flat piece of plastic) that is not very well attached. Be sure to do this on a flat surface of preferably white color to find the piece if it falls out as you open the key remote. That chip is vital as it contains the unique transponder ID, which is what tells the car that it's the correct key remote being used. The printed circuit board inside is also normally loosely attached, but isn't that small.

I have an Opel Cors Utility (in SA). Did this work with a new key/replacement key bought from a dealer or a locksmith that sells replacement keys? I managed to drown my only key. Immobiliser transponder still works.

Just tried this on my 2002 vectra C, doesn't work(nothing about procedure in my manual) , mind you neither does the Vauxhall op-com or my Autel ms906 lol. I get right to the last stage on both tools and after inserting new keyfob and hitting the ok button, or whatever it just says program failed? Update, had it in my head you had to have old key in ignition until whatever program you were using asked you to insert new one! But, next time i had new key in all through the procedure and the Autel ms906 done it! Can't vouch for opcom as could only use one tool at a time, but i'm sure it will work too now! This is all the more incredible as Autel told me it doen't do keys?? Lol, but, if you have an ms906 update it!! New update added a new section entitled 'immo and keys', happy days!

For some reason it didn't work for me the first time, bit repeating the process by taking out the battery and doping the procedure it worked. I Think first time I did use the lovlig button and the second time I used the un-locking button?! Anyway, it works - thanks.

I ran to get another battery for my remote, assuming that was it. god im such a walley. a simple thing as syncing the remote to the car via ignition. thanks. u explain it alot better than the dam manuals

Hope you can help. I have a 2002 astra. I broke the key and had a new key cut- (the fob shouldn't be a problem as I just replaced the actual metal key!!!) Turns out, if I use this key to start the car- yes, it unlocks/ locks and starts the car.... the engine cuts out after about 10 seconds.... would I need to reprogram/ resync?? Suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Immobilized chip may have been lost. It is located inside the key.

This worked for one of my two keys that was left with a dead button battery for ages, but will this work if I bought a new circuit board? You saved me from buying a new board, so just interested to know if this would work if I was forced to go with a new board.

Hello there iv just brought a vauxhall zafia 03 plate and the remote don't work iv tryed what you said woth no joy iv looked in the owner's manual and it says I can do it but just cant seem to do it any more info on how to do it would be great like how long to hold the key in or how many times to press button. Hi, I have a problem with my key, I had to keep doing this procedure every couple of weeks. Don't know why it keeps desynchronising.. however today I've tried this same procedure again after it desynchronised (also replaced the battery of the remote) the light flashes on the key but normally all the doors lock and unlock to show the procedure is successful. Its not happening now. Is there any other method I can try? Its a bit annoying having to take all the kids out of the car and then walk back round to lock it manually.
