It exists... No more. I came of age [adulthood, at any rate] in the 80s and the thoughts of the future were truly expansive- almost nothing was impossible with microchips and those "new fangled home computes"- cyberpunk was in its infancy and while corporations and a sense of oligarchy existed, it was still the dreams [or was it nightmares?] of escapist fantasy. Now? Well... "The future is Now" and while a great many things have changed; for better or worse, it's not exactly the future we'd anticipated. Still, the music carries on and whether through the wistful eyes of a much younger man or the foggy visions of a man no longer able to affect the direction of mankind- it transcends yesterday, today and hopefully... Tomorrow.

There's a really good band called steam powered giraffe that's like, an interesting combination of folk, pop, synth, steampunk I can highly recommend.
