The Astray is what Bandai wants out of all of their kits. Just tons of color changes and enough backpacks to even outnumber the Astray models themselves. In a way, kinda of surprised we have yet to see more Astray models in the Builder Universe, especially since it seems more adaptive than the GM.

Yeah I got to agree with you the versatility and capabilities of the astray series is a bit ridiculous with the customization that is available already and also including what people who build custom parts for theirs or modify with other already existing parts cuz I did that with my astray red frame model kit and I'm planning on getting one of each of the prototypes made as well my own custom version of them I've already got an idea what I'm going to do for the blue frame and the green frame the gold frame and the mirage frame are going to be interesting to figure out what to do with them

I guess there really was no precursor to the Murasame; no known prototype or test model that came before. ORB really did just make the most successful mass-produced transforming MS from scratch in one try. I’m guessing that one day, a boy with blue hair and a girl’s name was just sitting at a computer drawing up some design plans on his downtime just for the hell of it. Someone later saw the designs and called the boy a genius. I hear that boy is currently a vegetable after a freak accident involving a high-speed jet and a purple-haired pimp from Jupiter.

I actually came up with a G-Weapon predecessor for the Murasame that was a sixth Earth Alliance G-Weapon Prototype on Heliopolis. Basically an extension of the G-Project X300 Frame that totally improved the basic idea of a transformable mobile suit. I have both a sort-of canon explanation for where it was during the anime and an alternative operational history for a fanfiction story idea I have been playing around with over the past several months. The sort-of canon explanation is basically similar to that of the Green Frame and the fifth Astray Prototype in that it was never recovered by the Archangel on that fateful day. Mainly thanks to the transformation system of the prototype was still a bit iffy therefore remained behind in the main factory of the Morgenroete Facility on the Colony. When the colony was destroyed it remained floating in space with the rest of the colony debris till it was recovered by an Orb recovery team a year later well after the end of the war. Using the development data from the prototype they would end up developing the MVF-M11A Murasame First Production Type before it was refined into the MVF-M11C Murasame variant by the time of the Second Bloody Valentine War started. As for the fanfiction operational history of this prototype well I shall keep that close to my chest for now.

I like that Civilian Astray. I was writing up an idea for a heavily modified mass production Zaku 1 being used well into Victory Gundam and F91 timeline. Civilian use mostly because of their ineffectual space combat and non-existent flying capabilities. But they made up for that in other ways. Similar design in the sense of being a Civi suit, but a 150mm machine gun is more than enough to shred an enemy mobile suit with not even half the armor that these Zakus have. So technically they are better than the Civi Astray.

That Astray 0 looks like someone trying to beat me to the punch with the Mk. II Ultima of the best that unit could possibly be! And I think it's safe to say I now know how the Recon Gundam ought to look thanks to the Murasame! Also those custom designs have given me plenty of ideas on how the Barrage Gundam will look! Hey, pretty much all done! Jus need Prowl, Pursuit and ideas for designs and names for new units and I can start working on Part 2 of my novel!
