Astro A40 TR Mixamp 2020 Microphone Not Found Fix

Try this:
Update the mix-amp thingy via your PC first with the latest firmware.
Then:
Turn off xbox by pressing AND holding the button on the console for more than 10 secs. Unplug power cable and unplug every USB cable that is connected to the console.
Press the xbox button on the console again without having the power cable connected to get rid of the power residing in the console.
After that, plug in the power cable but NOT the USB cables yet.
Start up your console.
Wait 2 mins after full start-up.
Then FIRST connect your mix amp thing to the console with the usb cable. And afterwards your controller with the usb cable. Better not use wireless controller function because then it recognizes your controller first and then the MIX-amp. So the console has to recognize the mix-amp first and then your controller.
After that my console assigned the mix-amp and controller automatically to my account.
I hope this solved the problem because I was fiddling with this thing for 2 full days until I read a comment in this section about the xbox hard reset.
Also make sure you install the Astro app and the dolby atmos app on your xbox.

For me the solution was to 1. update the firmware using a PC. Download software from their website for free. It’s called Astro Command Center, once downloaded using the cable provided connect mixer amp to usb and update. 2. After updating firmware Follow all the instructions given on the really big white paper with tiny letters included in the box. 2. Disconnect the AUX from headset plug it behind mixer amp and connect the other end to the controller with the cable provided, do this while Xbox is turned OFF btw. Again, plug in everything as instructed to mixer amp, usb to Xbox, optic cable to Xbox and finally AUX to controller from the back of the Mixer amp. Now turn on Xbox with controller after start up it’ll ask you to assign headset to your account. If it doesn’t or you missed the notification go to accessories on Xbox app. After you assign headset to account THEN you disconnect cable AUX from behind the mixer amp to the Headphones, THEN disconnect controller connection and plug that into the front of the mixer amp, You should NOT have any wires connected to the controller after installation. Dolby Atoms does not need to be installed and used. It was just given for free for 2 years.

Got these headphones the other day, and I tried this method and had no luck, but then on a whim I decided to try having everything plugged in usb, optical and all. And then unplugging my Xbox power cord and plugging it back in and when I logged in to my account it recognized the headset and mix amp and the mic was working just fine after that. Not sure if that did anything relevant but I figured I’d share incase anyone else ran into the same issue I did

Yo listen up peoples! If it still didn't assign the mic after the update, like in my experience, perform a hard reset! Hold power button till cuts off, unplug for another few, turn back on, the shit will automatically assign you! AND MAKE SURE YOU SWITCHED AMP BACK TO XBOX! I betchu it'll work!

I've been having issues with TR mixamps (2016 and 2019 models). Microphone keeps cutting in and out of conversation. If I use the same headset on my M80 mixamp that plugs directly into my controller I have no problems with my mic audio.

Flipping the switch doesn’t always work. The main thing to do is to update the firmware on the mix amp. Then flipping the switch on the mix amp will work.
