Best review yet. So many misleading reviewers out there spreading misinformation about this headset. TBH, KZbin reviewers are often extremely misleading.

Hey man, I started following you because you go amazing reviews on headsets and you get to the point, No BS! I love it! I would love to get a recommendation from you, I have a PS Pulse Elite… just got a PS5 Pro. I get Astro 5ox for $240. Would you recommend these over the PS Pulse Elite?! Happy New Years 🎉 and keep up it with the good work!!!
@antoniopetrarca69025 ай бұрын
honestly i think the most bs part of the headset to me personally, is that if you wanna use the headset for multiple systems, you have to buy an extra HDMI cord if you wanna use it for xbox and PC. $340 and they can’t even supply you with all the cables.

Just got these yesterday. The AV switch is so good. Honestly best feature of the headset. I do prefer the sound of the old a50’s though. They sounded more open and natural while these sound more closed. The white a50x looks so clean though. Overall like the headset a lot.

Mine is coming in today. I hope the mic does a good job of blocking out background noise. No reviewers seem to mention it. But I always play with my family in the living room and I don't like everyone hearing what they say.

I’ve watched many reviews seems they don’t do well on blocking out background noise. Best mic in the game, but the consequence of that is it’ll pick up background noise

I got these because they are the only wireless headset with a GOOD microphone that have a semi open soundstage. After trying the HS80 RGB Wireless, HS80 Max, Razer Blackshark v2 Hyperspeed, and V2 Pro 2023s I settled on these. Only thing I dont like is how Bluetooth is tied to the basestation, not the headset itself, and battery life. You'd think 24 hour battery life would be fine, but when Razer and Corsair are giving 70 hour battery life now it's really mid. Also, do you find there are lots of people with larger heads than you at 6'4"? When you said "If you have a head larger than me!" I kinda laughed, because I can't imagine that's too many people.

bought the wired one back in 2017 or 18 and it was the best purchase of my life. It is still working fine but my wife got me the A50 wireless as a gift and let me tell you. That POS headphone has buzzing sound on the left side, the command center always fails to update. Sometimes it would just disconnect from the PC on it's own. Maybe mine is faulty because 4 months after the purchase Amazon refunded my wife without even giving us a notice maybe they knew the batch they had was a shit one.

Hey bro I bought these after watching your review only because I was able to get them on special costing $10aus less then the yet to be released a50 gen5 which I was going to get there retail will be $600aus. The retail price for the A50x downunder is $750 which is ludacris seeing that $750aus is about $500us atm. I owned A50 gen 3 and 4 before and I don't recall this issue with the head cushion on them. I bought the pc38x after my gen 4 and man what a headset they are the most comfortable cans I have ever owned and the sound is great at a great price. I wish they done them wireless. After them I got steelseries pro wirred and all i can say is I had issues I had to buy alot of replacement cords as they kept breaking and every time I updated the pc app they wouldn't work. Eventually I simply deleted the app and just used them as stereo headphones. The A50x are great head phones my first set of cans with graphene drivers and a not so talked about feature is the lifetime dolby atmos. They sound crisp and with the G hub app it's nice and simple to add different EQ's. But I'm like 6ft 5in and they do fit but only just after wearing them for an hour or so the top of my head starts to hurt. I have already ordered WC would do that regardless, but I'm finding it difficult to find a head cushion especially in white. Might have to do something similar to what you done ashame though. For the price they really cheaped out on the cushions. If you can provided any help with what to order for the head cushion it would be greatly appreciated.

Great honest review as always! I Tried the A40 TR years ago and that headset felt tiny. I couldn't use it. They need to make these headsets bigger for adults. I don't think most children are dishing out $400 for a headset. That's what Turtle Beach's are for. lol

Valid question, what to do when the battery degrades and doesnt hold up charge and knowing this unit cant be connected via usb C or 3.5mm
@MercuryTV2 ай бұрын
Definitely a fair question, but in all my years of using gaming headsets, I’ve never really noticed a significant degrading of battery life. BUT - take that with a big grain of salt because I’ve also probably never used a singular headset for more than 2 years, so I’m a pretty shitty resource on this.

@MercuryTV3 ай бұрын
Like at the same time, or just work with all 3? A50X is one of the very few I know of that doesn't require you to use a 3.5 mm cable with the Xbox like a lot of others do. It might be worth waiting though, looks like an A50 Gen 5 has been announced, will work with all systems, but will cost $300 instead of $380 because the base station will just have USB C inputs for audio, it won't be the HDMI switcher.
@gabrielmouyal42203 ай бұрын
@MercuryTV more so just compatibility with all 3 I have the A40 wired and I've used those on my Xbox for years but they tend to make a harsh sound when I connect them to my ps5

Very good review. I don’t know what Logitech was thinking adding that whole multi platform base station gimmick, I hardly ever use it. They instead should’ve made them ANC, especially for that price But hey at least it comes with a good mic… lol
@MercuryTV6 ай бұрын
lol your username caught me by surprise. And yeah, I didn't want to go off into the weeds in the video, but it's a great move FOR Logitech... reduce the SKUs for the product line by combining PS + Xbox into one, brand that as a "feature" for the 25 people who actually own all 3 and will benefit from it, and then charge more for this "feature" which is really saving Logitech money in the long run. I work for a company that offers a ton of different products, and anytime we consolidate our offerings its a win on our end (less MFG costs, inventory on shelves), but if we can consolidate AND charge more? BEAUTIFUL.

DO U RECCOMEND ASTRO A50X OR G PRO X 2 ? PLZ make comprosion video between g pro x 2 and astro a50x
@MercuryTV6 ай бұрын
If someone FORCED me to pick one, I would pick the A50 X, even with my complaints. It has a game/chat mixer, a 10x better microphone, a charging base station, more simplistic software (even though they both use G Hub which is weird), and much better Bluetooth implementation. Both are overpriced, but if you're going to get bent over, might as well get the one with more features. Edit: And you got it, I will make a video soon on this topic.

@MercuryTV6 ай бұрын
Oooh this is a tough one. Every headset I own has its own pros and cons. Let me list them out. Would recommend to my friends: HyperX Cloud III - Wireless, no frills, good audio, good mic, comfortable, but lacking features like a game/chat mixer, no bluetooth. Drop PC38x - Wired, open back, comfortable, great audio, great mic, probably need an amp/dac and no features to speak of. Razer Blackshark V2 Hyperspeed - Wireless, good audio, great mic, very lightweight, has Blueooth (but it can be a little annoying), no game/chat mixer. More subjective: Astro A50 X - Wireless, only recommend if you have an average sized head and $400 doesn't matter, great audio, great features, best mic yet. Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 - Wireless, decent audio, best feature set at that price point IMO (Flawless integration of Bluetooth, game/chat mixer), retractable mic, but comfort is a bit iffy (I hate their suspension style headbands). Very difficult to recommend: Still testing it out but Turtle Beach Atlas Air - Wireless open back. Dogshit software. Pretty bad sounding mic. Logitech Pro X 2 Lightspeed - great audio, really comfortable, worst microphone ever, bad/lacking features, very overpriced IMO My ideal wireless headset has to have a game/chat mixer as I spend most of my time gaming with friends, a phenomenal microphone, comfortable to wear for 4+ hours, and great audio. Like give me an open back, wireless PC38x with the feature set of the Arctis Nova 7 and mic of the A50 X and I'll gladly pay $400.

@@MercuryTV just wanted to say thanks for the advice, i ended up getting HyperX Cloud III and im not disappointed, possibly the most comfy headphones ive ever had, i previously had ARCTIS PRO WIRELESS, which were really uncomfortable around my ears, and the software drove me up the wall, constantly having issues where one day sonar would work and the next it wouldn't so im glad to see the back of steel series tbh

@MercuryTV22 күн бұрын
Well which headphones did you get? Sennheiser HD 490’s are amazing. $400. Standalone HyperX Quadcast mic was another $100. Then I needed a decent amp to drive the headphones, got a Fiio K11 for $130. Best audio quality I’ve ever heard in my life when it comes to gaming, music, whatever. It was also more than $600 for a setup that still didn’t have any kind of game/chat mixer for Discord, Bluetooth with my phone, and I’m back to an all wired setup. People can shit on gaming headsets all they want to but they are 100% a decent economical option if gaming and communication are the main things you’re using them for. Not everybody has to be an audiophile. It’s okay.
@sleazymedia69672 ай бұрын
I also found the headset to be uncomfortable to the point that i am considering about returning it. I also don't care for the price... It's absurd. The only thing that I like about the base station is thst fact that it's relatively easy to charge and utilizes the full bandwidth of HDMI 2.1. This headset is great for console gaming, but if you're a PC gamer I'd recommend getting a dedicated microphone with a dedicated headphone, because that'll be significantly better and you can probably pull it out for about the same price. I wish they'd knock it off with the premium pricetag just because they added a UBC port for PC. By the way, does any have some solutions for making it more comfortable to wear? I also am looking for a comfortable audio to fall into for all games. Please let me know. Thank you.
