Sad to see so much reactionary negativity in the comments directed at this game. if it can conjure 1/10 the charm, polish, and creativity of Astro Bot Rescue Mission, it will be a great game. Nintendo doesn't own 3rd person mascot platformers any more than Sony owns sad dad simulators. Everyone gave up trying to compete with Nintendo because the quality and polish they could push seemed untouchable, despite the fact that these games can sell systems on their own. Cannot give Team Asobi enough credit not just for having the confidence and skills to compete with Nintendo's flagship franchise, but for bucking cynical and self-serious trends to put some unapologetic wonder and joy back on tap.

They are the minority though. The game is selling extremely well in preorders, and Sony is giving it the exposure it deserves. Team Asobi are a very talented group of developers, made up of Japan Studio devs, and some of the brightest people from around the world. They are basically Sony's equivalent of Nintendo R&D1, or Sega AM2. I loved what they did with Astro's Playroom, Rescue Bot, and this is looking to double down on all of that. I rarely look forward to a new game like I'm looking forward to playing this next month.

I bought it the second it went up for pre-order, and I will play it on release day (physical copy of course!) I hope Sony is listening to fans. We want MORE of these types of games. Xbox owners? I can understand their frustration. Microsoft pretty much took a dump on them. First by releasing their games on Nintendo's Switch, then on PS5, and finally saying "you no longer need your console.. A $25 Amazon Fire TV + free app will play everything". They are just letting it out.. The new Astro Bot game looks insanely good, and so fun. Less than a month to wait.

I thought Mod Nation Racers was a great PS3 (then Vita) exclusive. They had all of the great PlayStation characters in it, gave them all out for free.. No micro transaction nonsense. They allowed people to make their own cars, racers, and even tracks, and had a huge online presence for a while there. Even the community was very respectful to one another, over the voice chat no less! Unfortunately they released LittleBigPlanet Kart, soon after, which I think was a little weird, and disrespectful to the MNR community. They looked and played so much alike, especially I'd you were playing as SackBoy in his LBP car. Anyway.. I'd be down for an Astro Bot racer. Bring it on! :)

Understandable on the perspective of a none PlayStation player. This game is basically their version of Mario and thank you to their mascots. Meanwhile, x box they kill their mascots and Nintendo are more caring adding it to their smash games. I have a series x and I play more Xbox one and 360 on it. PlayStation and Nintendo are by far better choice to have than Xbox who lost the drive to make games instead buy studios to slowly kill them.

Plenty of PS5 games have "color to them".. I take it you've never played, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, God of War Ragnarok, Spider-Man 2, Miles Morales, Astro's Playroom, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7, Returnal (played in HDR, has some of the most vibrant particle color effects I've ever seen!), Ghost of Tsushima, and many, many more. Even some nice ones from Microsoft (Hi-Fi Rush, Psychonauts 2).

Clling it a demo is silly. It's a 3D platformer. 8-16 hours is more than enough. They aren't full of fluff text trees, and the like. It's pure gameplay. Highly replayable. I'm sure it'll have a ton of hidden things, speedruns, etc..

@@-xXsupremacyXx- How many 15 hour demos have you played? That's not an opinion. Calling a full game a "demo" is wrong. Super Mario Bros. can be completed in 5 minutes. That didn't stop it from being one of the best games ever created. Open world games are fine, but they are often artificially lengthened with drawn out missions, lots of repetitive tasks, and storyline where you aren't actually playing. Comparing platformers to open world games is nonsensical.
