1) this song made me look up the definition of “rasterize” and “tessellate.” I wanted to seek this information out. Actively. I needed to know what these words meant so I could really understand this song and appreciate it (and my GPU 😉) better. 2) I now know what a GPU is and what it does on a computer system. Also, I have a great appreciation for the little guy now that I know he exists ☺️ It makes me curious about computers in general and about how all of the parts come together to give me a functioning device. While the little jingle to help remember the Pythagorean theorem and the song to help memorize all of the prepositions were catchy and effective… they’re lame! (thank you, educators. I love y’all. Don’t kill me 😂) BUT JUST LISTEN TO THIS SONG! There was obviously a lot of musical talent, production time and value put into this song and I understand that that’s what makes any great product, including a song that turns out to be educational and that also inspires learning. If education was centered around music, REAL music… music that has a high production value like this song… if education was centered around high production music, I wonder where we might be.

The lyrics to this song are actually a little sinister if you think of the metaphors in it. It's about a GPU fabricating a virtual existense to please its owner or user. You could also interpret this as someone putting on a happy go-lucky persona to please someone they like, but in reality, it's all fake.

We played this game as a kid friendly option while babysitting my nephew once but now he's played it three times because it's so good. The amount of easter eggs and unique animations, plus its just really well balanced in terms of gameplay. The sound design and haptics make it very satisfying. All that and the soundtrack is still the best part.

There were a couple moments in this game where I was blown away. When you get in that monkey suit and have to do the climbing sections and some of the tricker you had to do to collect all the artifacts I was elated and deflated at the same time. This game is a masterclass in game design and how to make new and interesting ways to have fun with the hardware its made for, and the sad thing is after this we are going to keep getting the same crap experiences we’ve been getting since the PS2 with more FPS’s, Sandbox games , and fighting games that still use the same tired gameplay tropes. Another console with wasted potential.

For a marketing gimmick, this game is incredible. Considering how ambitious it is, its a daring move. If the motion controls and haptic werent as reponsive as they are or if the game had other technical issues like frame rate drops, it wouldve been a disaster from a marketing standpoint.
