another plus is that the habitable zone in a K-star system, is far enough from the star that a planet in the habitable zone avoids getting tidally locked and increases the chance of having a magnetic field to protect their atmospheres.

It's crazy how big our universe can be. You thought our solar system was big? Well there's whole stars bigger than that. It makes us feel very small. Space is scary but also extremely fascinating to me. Whole other worlds beyond our comprehension out there. It feels like anything would could think of is at least out there somewhere.

In principle, it is possible to extend the Sun's lifespan via "starlifting", in this case removing hydrogen from Sun, perhaps siphoning it off to be used elsewhere.

What I think for a star for life is a k type star due to being less prone to solar flares compared to M type stars while being a star type that second longest life span compared to other star types.
@camerong5349
@camerong5349 Ай бұрын
Yes, i can see that K type Orange/yellow Main Sequence Stars could harbor life, but i have a few problems with that, 1. Planets there would have unstable tides due to a lack of a moon because of how small the solar system would be, like 1 AU would be far in a system like this 2. even if its less unstable than a red dwarf, Solar winds are still gonna be more harsh than in a G type star. so it would be hard to make a stable magnetosphere to support life 3. the Planets are rather close to them which would cause some planets to maybe collide if there orbits are a little to eccentric 4. back to 1. The system is so small that it would be difficult to have a planet that is not tidally locked, which would be horrible for the lifeforms developing there because of the system size They still have alot of benefits explained in that video which i agree to, but there are still alot of problems, thats why i would say g type stars are more stable and have slightly better chances than harboring life other than a K type star, but id say that both stars are in a Sweet spot for good habitable life.
