Hey Genny, your solar panel can be hooked up, you were just in the wrong location, I noticed the hook up point highlighted while you were taking jumps off it.

You can fully dig out the astronium from its base with a crane outfitted with a drill head. Just drive a truck over to the vehicle bay, clear out 4 slots, and you can put a crane on your truck.

Yeah, the connectors have to sorta face one another. The reason the solar panel doesn't connect to the rover is the exact same reason why the rover doesn't connect to the base unless it's facing it. Tilt the solar panel up on its end so its port is not facing the sky, and you should be able to get a rover connected. At 5:20 you saw it trying to connect. I bet the panel just restuck itself into the land, and terraforming will release it just like the first time. So anyway, I did the exact same thing you did. Super long tunnel underground, found Astronium, thought I was cool. It turns out other planets can have this stuff on the surface. That's less work!!!! Of course, those gray ore-laden rocks can only be drilled out with the drill. So if you were to mount a drill head to a crane to a truck, and drove the truck down there, you could mine out the lot of it. But anyway, we should be playing co-op. Hit me up.

Not sure if you noticed, if you drive on top of the solar panel you can attach the rover.

at 5:25 genny... the truck did the see through connection to the solar panel when you were going up your "ramp" to make the jump!! you can still connect it to the base!!!!!

The giant solar panel is buggy. You can dig it up and move it, but once you quit the game and load your save, it can no longer be moved. It's also useless to bring one to your base. It's considered a "base" by the game, and so yes, it can be used to charge up your rover and truck, but if you connect it to a vehicle, then connect the other side of the vehicle to your base, power will flow from the giant solar panel into your vehicle, but not from your vehicle to your base.

Graxster It can actually load your base, check other KZbin videos and you can see how it fully supports the base without any otherbpower supply.

To hook up the solar panel it has to be almost level with the ground (like pointing up the way you found it in the wild. When you pull one back, dig a hole under it and screw with the terrain until it's standing upright. IMPORTANT: Once you save the game and close out, the solar panel will be PERMANENTLY unmovable. so make sure you've got it set up right before you log out. Hope it helps :)

Rewatch the jumps and look at the back of the truck! It connects.

8:26 You could just "flatten terrain" and get stairs (CTRL + left click). Just aim at the edge and it will try to flatten the terrain but since you are making a platform and constantly aiming at the edge, it goes lower most of the time.

If you're having a lot of trouble connecting the big solar array to your base you can permanently station a rover between your base and the panels.

Put the Rover slightly *above* it on a platform. I have a screenshot if you've got a place to send it.

If you hit "ctrl" at just the right angle on the edge of the terrain, you can create a perfect path down or up in the caves. Don't know if anyone said that yet!

It is not the core. The further you go down, the weaker the gravity is. Once you are in the center of a planet, you just float.

Hey generikb, you can hook up a vehicle to the base of the solar panel while you're on top of the solar panel/rock. Then you can hook up a bunch of platforms that take 1 resin to the nearest platform. Your the first person I've seen on KZbin to even make it to center of planet. Everyone else has A.D.D. and gives up. I saw one guy get kinda close but then said screw it. Nice conviction bro. build a ramp up to the connector and it will work also the reason why you cant winch the solar panel out is because once you save and quit it wont move ever again

GenerikB I think it was the angle of the fallen satellite because when you were on the ramp it was showing that you could connect to the truck. Try digging out from under it.

You can hook up the rover to the satellite by placing the solar panel upright.

You'll need a drill bit and crane to get the rest of the astronium, but I'm sure they will add a value to it.

when you exit the game and re launch any satellites you have moved, stay where they were last put and can't be moved with Terra forming or the winch

You rover will attach to the solar panel if u park it on top of the panel itself and then connect it to your base via a few rovers

um... that's not the center its just a large deposit. Lol. keep digging you may find more and yes I don't think anyone has but you can dig ask the way through. the devs have said that in theory you should be able to but its hard to dig straight down and survive and those deposits get in the way

also you can place your tethers on the roof or walls to make it easier for yourself

also as a for science tests 1. can you attach a winch to a spaceship / shuttle and drag a vehicle into space 2. same winch idea but with the massive solar panels, which btw you CAN attach to your base using a vehicle as a coupler ^-^ 3. if idea 2 is correct, then collect all the space wrecks and make a gennyb's junkyard and spare parts XD just for fun 4. is it possible to make a dome with just the main platforms inside by branching out the coupling connections so all the main platforms face each other, maybe have a single coal generator in the center, hide all the connections by burying them and have a solar farm . wind farm hidden a bit aways? if so i would like to see this gennyb base + junkyard colony happen maybe on an irradiated world as everyone seems to go for exotic, and the irradiated looks interesting as it has mouths in the ground with teeth but it's not toxic as far as i can tell!

You can not take vehicles into space but you can connect the solar panel to a vehicle and then have infinite power, which with your infinite power you can create infinite recources via making fuel using the fuel condensor and trading it for other materials.
