The best setup for a truck is to have one large storage, crane & drill bit. Why? You can put a printed seat on the large storage and drive it that way. Sure, it looks ridiculous, but it works.

For the crane to become useful, you need 2 truck, 1 with a storage area, a seat and a solar panel, and 1 with a storage area and the crane ^^

A little trick to not loose your truck and rover is to attach them together and attach the truck to your base with the tube thing so it will become "part" of your base and the game will less likely consider it as free item and destroy it when you leave your planet :) and the samething apply to seat, storage and everything that can be attached to module of your base! btw I really like your serie! keep it up :) and good job!

you can use the winch to drag a huge crashed solar panel back to your base and then connect the solar panel to your base and it gives you a lot of power

Paul, there's an x-ray glitch. Dig a small hole, cover the top, and fill the hole in. You should be able to move thru the land and spot resources!

i actually bought the game after seeing you and another youtuber try it.. and its really quite entertaining! of course you hit the limits soon, being pre alpha.. one more thing i found out is that you can put the research thingies on the spots that look like geysirs or steam-holes. after that i couldn't detach it anymore and nothing much seemed to happen with it.. but its one mor mechanic left to discover...

I've noticed if things aren't connected when you log out and back in they tend to vanish. Always have these connected, even trucks. Just park by any platform and when you get the holographic hose just click the ring on either end to get a connection.

I wonder if you could attach the crane to the back of the vehicle, maybe using a storage attachment, so it doesn't obscure so much of the camera. Another idea might be to make a rover to attach to the truck, and put the crane on that. You don't even need a winch to tow the rover. The main purpose of the winch seems to be to haul things that have no connection points, like those big plants or crashed wreckage fragments.

You should rearrange the crane to the shot gun area so that it's easier to see while driving in caves.

Winches are for towing the vehicle that is stuck or to help the vehicle get up a steep hill

You can also use the Winch to carry large structures and plants once you've dislodged them. =) If you every find a large solar panel wreckage, you can dig it up and use the winch to pull it back to your base. Hook it up to a spare vehicle, hook the vehicle up to your base, and boom; giant solar panel power for the base. =)

I wonder... Maybe the head of the winch is how you attach things, and that by pressing the winch itself, you retract it? If this is true, then maybe you can attach yourself to the top of a cliff, and then retract the winch in order to climb up. You could even make an elevator from a system like that.

that is a bug that I encountered with drill. if you don't mine a full stack of a resource then the unfinished stack gets stuck in the slot

Try making another truck to tow behind the crane like a truck bed, use the winch to pull up pods in the danger zones and plop onto the truck bed. I still don't have the large ship or the winch. I have a research pad on Exotic...was hoping to get some new stuff, but I guess it runs out. :-|

The game is in Alpha, which means it's still early in development, so it's bound to lag, glitch, crash, and bug out quite often. It's also not fully optimised. Check the Steam page for the system requirements and see if what you have is good enough.
