great video Simon! it just goes to show the trials and tribulations of an astrophotographer. That Obsy is a godsend. Open and/or close at a moments notice. can't wait to see you running it with NINA. lovely images! CS

Thanks Jason👍 You’re right, it is a godsend! If this was easy mate, everyone would do it! And not just us mad buggers🤣🤣 I think you’re making better progress than me with Nina! I’m working on it! Clear skies!

Aahhh the joys of astrophotography. Things often never quite go to plan but we love it anyway. I feel your pain regarding the dew - quite a few nights over the last couple of months have left my equipment absolutely dripping with dew and I've had to dry things down with a towel. Great images at the end by the way.
@SimonsAstro11 ай бұрын
Thanks Logan, dew really is a pain, it can’t be doing the equipment any good! Nothing we can do about though, apart from get the towels out🤣 It would be boring if nothing went wrong! Struggling a bit with Nina now, but I’ll get there! Clear skies👍

The effort was worth it, Simon - two beautiful images there! That did provide some comfort that those nights where nothing seems to work aren’t just me!! Thanks for sharing, as ever. 👍
@SimonsAstro11 ай бұрын
Thanks Paul👍 Definitely not just you mate🤣 It would be boring though if it all went well every time! Thanks for watching and clear skies!

UK weather ... don't you just love it! I've been going through an extended cloudy period here, but that is about to clear up. (One of the perks of being a meteorologist, ha!) Speaking of love, that is what you will do with NINA. It's not all that difficult. There are two sequence routines to choose from, a simple and an advanced. To open and close your dome, you will need to use the advanced sequence, but I am sure Glenn will be able to easily get you going. Speaking of dew, welcome to my world. And yes, I too have forgotten to turn that dew heater on and ended up with the same problem you had. You can program that in NINA. Isaac from IcemanAstro just published a great video about using the advanced sequencer in NINA. Great final images. Now go at get that Rosette.

Thanks so much Pat😀 Good to know I’m not alone in forgetting that dew heater! So you have a lot of dew in Savannah Georgia then!! Damn that dew🤣 I saw Isaac’s video, yeah I’ll be going back to that for tips! I know I’ll love Nina when I can get my head around it! And yeah, Glenn will be helping me with the roof👍 Hope your bad weather clears up soon mate, being a meteorologist gives you a heads up I suppose, but you can’t change it though🤣(I wish) Thanks for watching Pat and clear skies to you👍

Simon, great image! In spite of all the dew and weather issues. Dew is one issue I don't have to deal with here in Phoenix, but occasionally it does raise it's ugly head. But like all of us, we learn to push through issues and move forward. Great results! CS.
@SimonsAstro11 ай бұрын
Thanks David, we do suffer with dew quite a bit! As you say, we just push through the issues! But it’s always worth it in the end😀 Thanks for watching and Clear Skies!

Cool video Simon. I'm sure you'll like N.I.N.A. very much to control your rig(s)..and especially the roof. So sorry you lost precious imaging time due to the dew... But your guiding was really excellent the night after that.,wow. How did you do that? Amazing! ;) Very nice M32 and Wizzard nebula! cs

Thanks Tully, I’ve started learning Nina now! It’s a great program for sure! Loosing data unfortunately comes with the hobby mate! My EQ6R Pro mount has always given me good guiding numbers right out of the box! Guess I’m lucky, careful balancing helps, and being on a permanent pier!😀 Thanks for watching and clear skies👍
