Thanks!! Sometimes my kids can’t because it’s typically too late. But in winter they can if they can manage the cold at night.

Ah, Texas. I used to live in San Marcos in about 1995. My foster parents took me to a guy's house for July 4. He had telescopes he built himself and I spent most of the evening looking at Jupiter. I guess since I was laying on the ground it was a refractor, but it was big. Made of wood I believe. I have no idea who it was, but he gave me a shirt that glowed in the dark and when you wore it and looked down it was a star map that you could use to find stars with. Great image. I think I might try it.

Totally agree with Brian below, your videos just keep getting better and better. Fantastic final image Ed, really pleased for you, it looks really well balanced and well processed. I know how difficult it is to image deep sky targets and absolutely love following your journey 👍🏻 Keep it up 🥶

Thanks so much! I truly appreciate the compliments!! This target was difficult for me and I’m not 100% satisfied but there always is next year. Have you ever imaged it?

Nice photo, one of many targets left on my to-do list, but I live pretty far up north so it wont get to a higher altitude than 25 degrees for me :(

Thanks. Thats is pretty low. Luckily for me it was around 45 degrees or so... Thanks for watching!

Awesome video, enjoyed watching. Good music and editing with a nice tracking timelapse. Nothing ever runs smoothly, especially when in the experiental stage of the hobby. Have you considered a duo narrowband filter to help out on those moonlit nights?
@astroedsastrophotographych45624 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching!! I have considered it, but I’d rather save/spend money on narrowband imaging camera system then spend money on a duo narrowband filter. That is the next step I want to take...however I wouldn’t mind having one 😉

I sucked at processing back then, probably an artifact of the type of noise reduction I was doing.

NICe job Ray.. What was the exposure duration, gain you used and did you use a filter?
@astroedsastrophotographych45624 жыл бұрын
My name is AstroEd, some call me Ed, I use 3 min subs at unity gain with the ASI294MC pro, no filters used. Bortle 6 skies. This was a total of 8 hrs integrated signal. Thanks for watching! Much appreciated!

Hi did you just use rgb ? Thx
@astroedsastrophotographych45624 жыл бұрын
Yes, this was straight RGB no filters. If I used a filter like the triad ultra, I am certain my results would have been way better!

Hi :) Any issues with ASI294MC after this video? :) I'm thinking about buying one for me, no time for mono... Have you experience any color artifacts produced by this camera? Cheers
@astroedsastrophotographych45623 жыл бұрын
When the asi 294mc pro is used with a uv/ir filter or with a narrowband filter at appropriate f/stop it performs superbly. If you’re going to buy one, please consider using my affiliate link at www.astroeds.com for the asi294mc pro. It helps out my channel! Thanks and clear skies.

The vastness of the universe is incomprehensible! A miracle of Creation! “For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse”.
