Symbolic link option helps by making no actual copies of the files you add to Siril, but just links. It requires you to enable developer mode on Windows though.

@@Astroimagery the manual says: “Technically, when the input files are in FITS format, there is no need to convert them. However, you may want to do so so that the files are renamed to create a sequence and can be processed in Siril. In order not to fill the hard disk unnecessarily, it is then possible to choose the option Symbolic link. This option creates a symbolic link for the FITS files instead of copying them. This option is therefore only available when the output files are FITS images.” From your video I think I saw you had different files (DSLR)

It seems easier than DeepSKy stacker. I didn't have much luck with the other one.

you are right. It is much easier than Deep Sky Stacker. I also did a lot of testing with different stacking programs and the best image quality came from Siril. I also advise you to try the processing in the software it is a big plus. Good luck let me know how you get on!

quick and to the point, do you recommend using scripts? Is there an advantage as far as image quality for both stacking and color calibration (using the other option in color calibration)?

Thanks for the question! I have tried using scripts but find I don't really need to use them. I prefer to do these things manually for the most part. If I can find the imaged object in the Photometric colour calibration I use that - it is afaster and gives good results. There is no advantage to use the manual colour calibration that I know of. Do you have any other questions?

what computer is this with? it processes this stuff like 20 times faster than mine does it feels like

Hi, yes my computer is a Lenovo Yoga 520 laptop which is about 3 or 4 years old now. I increased the RAM to 16GB and the hard drive to SSD. It was only 4MB ram when I bought it and discovered that programs like Photoshop and other astro programs need at least 8GB RAM so that might be your problem. What computer do you have and how much RAM?
