This was filmed at Cinecitta, just outside of Rome. The extras were bused in each day, which dramatically reduced unemployment and supported the economy of Rome. As you say, I can only imagine the wardrobe and props department required for such a production.

This is, without a doubt, the best scene in the entire film! And just imagine how long it took to film this scene! With all the costumes, the choreography, the extras, the music, the set designs, and this being only 9 minutes (the ENTIRE scene) out of a 4-hour long film, I mean, come on, it’s no wonder why this film very nearly bankrupted 20th Century Fox Studios! But even after nearly 60 years, it’s still a classic film that was an investment well worth spent!

The silence from 3:04 to 4:13 was directing perfection! Indeed a colossal momentous film this was. Every time I watch Cleopatra it gives me a new fulfilling experience. Despite the extras and the exuberant amount spent acting, storyline, climactic scenes, and research in to historical accuracies to the best of their ability was phenomenal. I am watching this because I read about Elizabeth Taylor. She being the signature owner of the "Elizabeth Taylor Passion perfume" LW bought me for a non-occasion present today 3rd of August 2024. Passion perfume is a classic, elegant, powdery, musk floral smell LW liked for & as it stays long in my skin it becomes subtle & long lasting smellin'. Going back to the film "Cleopatra", I was not even born when they did the film. I/we have to watch it in full. But by this trailer, it is certainly a grand production.
