If, as per the statement stated by the ASU president that he was assaulted for no reason then yes action must be taken against the other party but I'm also certain there must be a reason behind the assualt too. I'm sure no person of sane mind(especially an armed personnel) would attack someone who didn't do anything for no reason. However, even if he(the ASU president) did something that might infuriated or triggered him, there's no justification for an armed personnel to attack a civilian. Therefore, proper investigation is needed and justice must be served.

I don't know the full story but I feel we are setting up a bad precedence of calling for bandhs/shutter downs too whimsically nowadays. In our society there should be plausible causes and demands/debates befitting the situation before calling for any steps. As a citizen of our beautiful state we should stand up for our Brethren whenever necessary but remember bandh/shutter down will not affect the army/UG instead our daily wage earners, farmers and common public will be the most affected.
