ASU students suspended over protest arrests lose court motion

A U.S. District judge denied a motion Friday for a preliminary injunction to lift the suspension for 20 Arizona State University students who were arrested for trespassing during Pro-Palestine protests last week at the campus. The decision solely focused on whether a preliminary injunction, or temporary restraining order would be granted, it did not address the trespassing charges. The lawsuit was filed against the Arizona Board of Regents in federal court on Tuesday, accusing ASU of violating students' free speech rights and retaliating against students who attended the protest.

I'm guessing for a lot of these students, their majors don't include extensive critical thinking. I would honestly be interested to see the majors of all the students that have been arrested or suspended during these protests. @@LuciusSicarius Wow some one after my heart. You Said ("There majors did not include critical thinking") You know what the several schools that I went to never did teach on thinking I never knew about thinking until I was an adult above the age of accountability . Many people go bad because for what ever reason their parents did not teach them to think upon things in life. I do not recall ever being taught how to think. That subject should be required in the beginning of every school year and at least for a day or so then re-taught at the ending of each school year there is where learning and growth occur. Neither is barricading or graffiti. I suppose that gets them on the news but that's the bad form of publicity. What they should be doing is forming their little "DEI" groups and going to clean up the grounds at their local synagogue and trying to prove that different people can get along together. All this is doing is supporting the justified stereotype that Hamas and their supporters are violent and evil.

Remember their liberal education up to this point has been others are to blame for everything, anything wrong in your life is due to others, and you should be forgiven if you try to fight back against this system that is SO rigged against you. This same uneducated young ones would have graduated (or eventually will sigh), go into companies, and then they will DEMAND the executives in the company change direction or change their products or change who they work with to meet THEY beliefs of social justice. As we saw with Twitter/X 90% of the workforce, gone, and no real impact on the company as they were all just parasites doing little to anything. And they tried to complain and filed suits and Elon waved them away. And recently with Google they were out protesting demanding the company cancel a contract and Google fired 28 of them .. and again they are off in the courts suing thinking they have a right to disrupt and harm a company in support of THEIR beliefs over any others.

That’s why it’s hard to defend Hamas. They kidnapped, raped, and killed and their actions are connected to Israel that’s determined to eradicate Hamas control of Gaza. I pray the violence against Jews stop and that peace starts on both sides. Our American college students must reflect on both sides that are suffering. I think prayer can help, discussions in groups can help. Disruption, blockade, noise may not be a good thing right now. Why not Protest the bombing Ukraine , protest the violence against Tibetans and Tibet… you don’t hear that. When Hamas violated Jews with kidnapping, killing and rape, these same students and activists did not have a candle vigil… I continually pray for peace. She learned her lesson. She’s not going to graduate. She will have to repeat her courses at another school. She’s going to climb back up by herself. Other protestors she was with will not be there for her. This is what happens when you thought your entitlement and narcissism was way more important than respecting the college campus you were attending to get a degree.
