The Asus ROG Z790 Hero BTF has the CPU fan header on the front, just above memory slots

There's also connections at the back . Can use the rear CPU connection instead of the visible front one :)

I really like the BTF format and the GPU power connector in particular and this is a good start. But I do have some questions: Is Asus' power connector an open standard or a proprietary one? If it's proprietary then it's a dead duck and people will avoid it. Does the BTF GPU come with an adapter for placement in ATX motherboards? I will also make two observations: First, the GPU power connector needs to be on other slots too - not just the top one - because we don't always put a GPU in the top slot. And cards in other slots may require power as well. Second, we now need a BTF AIO CPU cooler. This might require further modifications to the motherboard, or mounting the CPU on the reverse side of the motherboard. Keep up the good work.

Don't like the BTF motherboard cables/case but like the GPU connector

since you also reviewed the rmx shift psu, is there space both on the psu side and motherboard side for the cables? or is it fully compatible?

2:22 Isnt this just the CPU fan header? not the actual CPU power?

Weird maybe, but I like seeing my nice custom cables inside my case :) Maybe it's because it was my first new build in over 10 years, so I went with RGB fans and custom cables in a white case with a clear TG panel to admire everything. All the cables in the back is nice, but then when you see black fan cables like on this AIO doesn't it bug you to no end? Same with that CPU connector on the front: why? Is this just a temporary fad? Not being to take that GPU and put it in another, "standard" system, or even resell it down the line because of this is a huge negative.

Thank you for this review. Good idea on the white card inside, looks great! Any update on the release in the USA for the ASUS BTF parts (graphics card, mboard, case)? Thank you

Do you need a special case for the mobo?

It needs to be a btf compatible case

anyone know if this motherboard supports regular gpu's ? or does the power connector get in the way of a regular one ?

as for the power supply easy that asus logo cut it out leaving the logo there and seeing the psu there maybe put a led light there so you could see ;)

I like, but looks abit tight with those cables around the HDD cage for those of us who still use 3.5 HDD storage drives

Seen so many people discussing these, and posting video reviews. Struggling to find a hint or any suggest on when its likely to actually be in Joe Public's hands.

not a fan of the styling it looks very dated, similar to when RBG first began to soil the market.

Disappointing review if I’m honest. 13 minutes on aesthetics and how a practically invisible CPU power cable and a tiny slit are annoying you, and about. Minute on thermals and performance - the important stuff. And not everyone is gaming with a 14th gen cpu
