Thanks for another informative video, Prawn. I have this motherboard and btf gpu in my personal rig with a Corssir 6500x and I'm really enjoying it so far. And this video helped me learn more about the features and watchouts. It looks great without cables and runs fantastic with my i5-13600k. Building with a btf motherboard is so much easier and I especially like the btf gpu as you don't have a bit of gpu sag.

Cpu fan is at the front since you really cant hide that wire at the back. Much better to be in front as its hidden by the tower already. A much cleaner look rather than the tower fan wires looping to the back.
@wasitacatisaw835 ай бұрын
The problem isn't BIOS related. There are production defects (via oxidation) actually on the CPU dies that were discovered in 2023. They are using BIOS updates to try to hide this by dropping voltages.
@TheProvokedPrawn5 ай бұрын
That's not the whole story though is it. It's not every CPU nor has that even been confirmed to be the whole problem officially
@wasitacatisaw835 ай бұрын
@@TheProvokedPrawn No, it's not every CPU, but they're being sketchy about RMAs, any damage that has already occurred is irreversible, and the BIOS updates they're scrambling to put out only limit performance and overclocking potential. They can't fix a production defect.

You're buying into all of the click bait content creators causing a stir about this. I build alot of pcs each year (AMD and Intel) and I've had no problems with a single 13th or 14th gen cpu so far. I think we need to wait and see what additional details are uncovered as Intel works through this. The Gamer's Nexus "report" was full of wild and irresponsible assumptions / conjectures that have really worked some people up. Most pc people are playing a wait and see approach and I think that's smart. I do think that Intel should have released the lot numbers of the small batch of oxidation defective cpus by now.
@Bobo-ey8fc5 ай бұрын
@@wasitacatisaw83 It could very well be a very small number of cpus impacted by the oxidation. It's way too early to make the jump you're making.

also so for the CPU_fan header on the front is probably one of the requirement and standardization for any Intel based motherboard, since intel used to (and still does in boxed variants) ship a factory 1x120mm fan with their CPU's and that cable on the fan is really short. Again I might be tottaly missing the mark, but this seemed like a really common and logical stand on why exactly it's located where it is, if I'm wrong please feel free to correct me.

@@mrbabyhugh - PCIE does not magically stop existing in all places in the system as I understand it not do graphics cards run on mythical unicorn 💩., It's the PCB extension and matching slot provide a means to eliminate the extra power cables (PCIE, I am led to understand) on the GPU which may appeal to someone who has an aversion to seeing cables. So, what Mr. Prawn 🦐 said is 💯% accurate. This behind the back birthing person board has, in fact, eliminated the cables on the GPU when using that matching GPU.

BTF board - I have nothing against them, I just think it's a bit of faff to have to limit/match cases. {Warning incoming Grandpa stitch} back in my day we didn't want to see the cables - we put it in a big metal box that you couldn't see through. Bwahahaa I also don't like the fish tank cases although I did pickup a Lian Li Evo XL because of the size. I can get 140mm rads in it. I agonised over illuminated in white or black and not. I did settle on the latter. The only complaint I have as I start is I require a strong torch to see just about everything. I tease a tad on being an old boy - but it's more accurate than I care to discuss. There was a non fish tank XL case I looked at with promise, but I think the 60mm 420 will fit better even though it's 90°. I so enjoy both the pace and tenor of your presentation.
