Honestly I think Big Boss does a great job. Taking things apart and reassembling them is tedious. Doing it all day long must be tiring not to mention frustrating when you reassemble something just to have to take it apart again because the repair didn't work. Big Boss you get recognition from me for all the hard work you do.

This is my laptop! Thank you Alex! I found this channel after it popped up on my feed, fixing a very similar model. I didn't know they could be so easily repaired, so I decided to roll the dice and send it in. I'm extremely happy it got fixed, and that I got to see the fix in this video. Alex probably loves ASUS ROG's, its such a fast turn around to find and fix, its a quick money maker for them. And happy customers as well. PS: No-one judge how many hours gaming this thing had, notice the WASD keys are worn off... rofls.
@Paperghost2 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry, I have got to call you out. This is neither a quick money maker or easy fix. Its made to LOOK easy because Alex has thousands of hours of experience and a vast knowledge in the electronics field, and as for quick, well laptops take time to disassemble and reassemble carefully, the initial fault needs to be identified, rectified and then the device needs to be tested, that all takes much more time than is shown on these videos.
@dallanc51992 жыл бұрын
@@Paperghost Oh I agree, Alex has a huge amount of skill and knowledge. But you have to admit, these ROGs all have very similar failure points, disassembly time aside, its relatively quick for him to identify the specific component that's failing and replace. No disrespect meant.

The capacitor value isn't important, what's really important is reducing parasitic inductance, which is the main reason multiple capacitors are placed in parallel

It's not like that. I have in my country a youtuber who also is doing Alex job. Fixing laptops is easy when you have good knowledge. Asus makes simple circuits with available components. They are not like Apple when everything has to be "recover from corpses" with small exceptions. Alex did mention that about month ago when two Asus laptops in a row has same not fixable issue. It not mean that Asus cheap out, oh no! Asus can provide high quality parts which can be buyed. But because they make thousands of many other things they have think of costs and value of their product. When you put everything on one brand you may simply end in dead end specifically in pandemic shortages. Even Infineon Technologies has their limits producing mosfets.

Because of games or cpu intensive app loads, I guess. Owner of ROG don't use it for office purpose
@sixcoregamer92212 жыл бұрын
My guess is young gamers buy expensive gaming laptops and run the cpu/gpu at 100C with no undervolting, no laptop cooler, and original thermal paste/pads. The fact that Asus sells laptops with liquid metal means they are targeting extreme gamers. Teens, young adults will overclock their hardware, and then run extreme benchmarks for hours to "test stability" or simply to get the highest score possible in a benchmark for bragging rights.
@radiotests2 жыл бұрын
@@tellolite correct, the GPUs alone draw 100s of watts. It's almost too much for SMD components. They really should be 50v electrolytic.

I bought 2018 a Asus ROG to replace my older Razer (blade still works fine), died on warranty so I got a 2019 ROG with upgraded specs. I didn't use it for awhile when I opened the box the charger was blown, got a replacement 5 weeks later and not long after the laptop died, no power, when I tried to claim warranty Asus said that it died because I charged it with a universal charger, the same that powered my Thinkpad p51 and blade for years, anyway I got a gigabyte (made by clevo) passed the Asus, I think I'll take a decade long break from Asus lol Too bad the specs are fine and looks on par with the bests, just pls Asus get QC & reliability on the agenda!
