Yes!!! I had the same issue with the base getting really loose. I was trying to figure out how to get to the base's bolts but couldn't figure it out. For me to pop off the back, I had to push the screen forward while gently tugging at the bottom edge with my nails, instead of just pushing it back. That might have been because the base was so loose. Thanks man! :)

Thx for the views of it. I couldn't put pressure down to release locking points. I had to start inserting the edge of a plain kitchen butter type knife into the bottom rear edge gap and pry up slightly inch by inch along it popping out the points all around bottom and sides then carefully top area. Be careful not to pressure screen. It all popped off. I am putting a 5"x5" piece of cut sheet 1/8" inch plastic to put washer and nuts thru to better support wall bracket screwed into outside as the rear is so thin it could fracture. Metal would do too. There is a $20 adapter holder on Amazon that screws into base after circle stand pulled with screw removed but it makes the screen stand out 6" from holder. You dont have to pull back though. I want it flat against the wall on the articulating arm mount i got for $16.

These Asus MX Designo series monitors are beautiful as fuck especially for Hackintoshes and I have 3 of the MX279H (27") and 2 as spare parts which had broken screens but the motherboards and body chassis are in excellent condition! Very elegant and manly monitors! If anybody havent or doesn't know how to color calibrate this model, let me know I'll post the settings so your monitor to can looks perfect brilliant in color reproduction! P.S. Got another one in brand new condition for $100 flat with box and all its accessories and another one for $60 which had the neck of the sundial broken and so i'm going to swap it with the whole back panel with one of the spare ones I have which is in excellent condition! Also just bout a few days ago the 2K version of this one "Asus MX27AQ" in excellent condition too for a whopping total of $140 cash which still values at retail for $350 new, $275 used!.... The color calibration for the MX27AQ are different then those of the MX279H and if you don't calibrate it at first and just start using it right out the box it will look like total SHIT!!!! It took me about an hour to figure out how to make the damn monitor look really sharp as there was one feature left out in order to make it look a full 2K crystal clear sharp!
