My N53JF is from 2010, and I've never changed the thermal paste on it. It's just working fine...

I noticed that you didn't apply any thermal paste on that one area which has not kapton and that black rectangle areas around the gpu is guess? Why is that? Can we put thermal pad in that areas?

Did you actually upgrade the RAM? What I read from the specs, it can handle no more than the built in 16 GB (4 x 4 GB). I would be interested though to double that with 4 x 8 GB.

Hello. Did you ever got to upgrade to more than 16Gbs? I'm thinking about upgrading mine to 32Gbs but I don't know if it will be noticable on 3d design programs or even day to day tasks considering the laptops age..
@GregorGramlich4 жыл бұрын
@@jfslim25 No, I did not upgrade the RAM. I don't know, if it would work. My use case for > 16GB would be running more than 2 virtual machines. Mine is slightly more than 9 years old and still running nicely almost 24/7 on Ubuntu from SSD. It is barely noticeable that this machine is so much older than the laptop I use from my company.

RAM MAX 8 GB... How did you clean the fan ?
@Driver-drive5 жыл бұрын
Kurut. Ardından ready.

Hiii, does anyone know the thickness of that one thermal pad? I have the same notebook and I want to clean it, and change the thermal paste and if necessary the thermal pad too, but I need to know the thickness so I can but the right one... If anyone can help me, I would be really thankful!!! (Sorry if I wrote anything wrong)

Hey Steph, it's kinda late to answer, but apply it real thin: you need to cover the microcracks on surfaces basically, just that.

Never use plastic tools to remove thermal creme !!! Perfest way is to use a new formula AVIO-CLEANER (Isoalkanes/C6...), in plastic bottle, with toilet or house paper.
